Good chain of hotel

We booked this hotel but when we arrived there, we were told that they had a problem with the accommodation so they transferred us to the Frangipani Royal Palace. The 60's Villa seemed to be an old, rundown guesthouse from what I could tell from the garden area. We were glad for the upgrade because the Royal Palace had superb staff, clean bathroom, good location, buffet breakfast and a roof deck bar. We only had a problem with the water temperature (too hot) that took a little while to fix. Overall, I would recommend the Frangipani Royal Palace if your travel budget will allow for it.

Nice, spacious rooms. The staff is very helpful. The bathroom could use a little renovation though.

Not a good experience.

I was placed in a double room which was dingy and needed a good clean. There were water stains to the ceiling in several places and cracks and paint peeling. You can get a lot better for a couple of extra $. I discovered in the following morning that my booking was for a deluxe twin with a balcony not the dingy room I'd been placed in and when I mentioned this I did not get any remark at all. 90% of staff just looked miserable and made no attempt to make you feel welcome. Stay at the Teahouse 50m away!!

Mitten drin und ruhig!

Wir hatten den Pick Up Service für 12 $ durch das Hotel in Anspruch genommen und wurden per PKW pünktlich vom Flughafen abgeholt. An der Rezeption wurden wir sehr freundlich mit welcome drink (Obstsaft) empfangen. Wir konnten gleich in unser Zimmer, das aus Schlafraum und Wohnraum mit TV und Küchenzeile plus Bad mit Dusche und WC bestand. Wie erbeten lag es ziemlich ruhig. Frühstückszeit war von 6.30 bis 10.30 Uhr, also optimal. Das Frühstück wurde draußen serviert. Man konnte auswählen (z. B. Obstsaft, Tee oder Kaffee, Toast, Croissants, Marmelade, Butter, Reis oder Nudeln, Omelette oder Spiegelei, Obstteller mit frischem Obst. Es hat alles sehr gut geschmeckt und gereicht. Die Zimmerreinigung erfolgte nur per Kehrbesen. Toilette, Waschbecken und Dusche waren aber sauber. Das Bett wurde mehrmals bezogen, die Matratze war allerdings ziemlich hart. Handtuchwechsel erfolgte. In der Küchenecke gab es einen Wasserkocher, Teebeutel, Kaffeesticks, 2 kl. Flaschen Mineralwasser täglich. Der Kühlschrank enthielt kostenpflichtige Getränke. Die Spüle wurde allerdings nie abgewischt. Vor dem Hotel standen immer Tuk Tuk abfahrtbereit. Zum Nationalmuseum oder Riverside konnte man auch zu Fuß laufen. In der Nähe war der Lucky Market, wo es alles zu kaufen gab. Das Personal bestand aus jungen Menschen, die immer freundlich waren und Englisch sprachen.

Nice hotel in poor location

While I was staying at the Frangipani Villa 60's extensive, noisy renovations were being made to one of the neighbouring rooms. In addition, the noise made by local cats and dogs at night didn't result in a good night's rest! The hotel is located in a shabby street where lots of construction is going on, and smells from the outside drains wafted into the hotel's courtyard. Were the hotel to be located on a better street I would have given it a much higher rating, as the rooms themselves were decent and the staff helpful and friendly. I should point out that having worked and lived in Phnom Penh for more than a year (2013-14) I am well aware of what can be expected in terms of value for money in both the capital and the provinces. Hopefully hotel Frangipani will improve over the next 6 months or so.

Nice Small Hotel. Nice people

A bit removed from town center or river front, but walkable for a walke (i"m 82 and did it, as did my wife). Moto transport waiting at gate when you don't want to spend the time walking. We had a big room with a patio porch, wicker couch and lounge chair, queen bed. Full breakfast on patio each morning. Great.

Near downtown area

Great!! Very near downtown area. You can walk to palace and national museum in 10 min. After that you can visit market or walk along the river to Wat Phnom and night market. No need to rent tuk tuk. And s-21 is very very near our hotel. For breakfast is delicious you can try ,except noodle yellow is too sweet for me.

カンボジアクオリティだから仕方ないかな

思っていたのと違った、というのが正直な感想。 部屋の説明にバスタブありと書いてあったけど、シャワーしかなかったのはがっかりした。 部屋は無駄に広いが清潔感はないし、部屋は日が入らなくて日中でも暗い。特に水回りが汚い。部屋の清掃は毎日してくれるが、しっかりしてるのはベッドメイキングとごみを変える程度で、カーテンや窓、水面台などは長年掃除してない感じで埃やゴミがすごくたまっている。椅子のカバーやクッションもほこりっぽい。部屋のインテリア？の植物も枯れているのにずっとそのまま。あと、これはこのホテル特有ではないけど、部屋にイモリと蚊がいっぱいなので落ち着いて眠れなかった。 スタッフさんは皆若くて、半分は愛想よくて半分は愛想が悪い。眼鏡のインテリっぽいお兄ちゃんと朝食をいつもサーブしてくれたお姉さんがとりわけ怖かった。 3つ星ヴィラといっても、日本の当たり前のサービスクオリティを求めてはいけない。 潔癖症な人はカンボジア自体に来ない方がいい。

Nice little hideaway

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and had a mini kitchen with a cooker, which is good if you want to avail of it but it's cheaper to eat out.

Awful experience

Extremely bad experience, once arrive no one help for check in until 20 minutes later, also after check they can not find my reservation from hotels.com, already sold out all the rooms,need transfer me to another sister hotel,once arrive ask me why I check in here,total my check in process took 3 hours from 6 till 9,disturb all my schedule,lose a movie and dinner schedule,after that they told me will provide a letter to explain what happen and action plan but till now not yet receive, also during travel you can not contact with hotels.com,you need to help yourself

IF you are looking for friendly nice hotel! here !

Best experience ever ever!!!!! Breakfast is good. Room is really clean!! Hotel staffs speak really good english!!! If you are looking for friendly place, it is the right one !!! I stayed here for 2months, because I was really satisfied with all the services that they offer and There was nothing to complain deuring my all the stay :) Never regret it !! I highly recommend you to stay on this hotel and have a good experience in phnom penh !!

Great experience in phnom pehn thanks to the hotel

I was really satisfied staying in this hotel. They offered us laundry service which was quite helpful and all the services were customer centered. They even offered us room upgrade when the better room was available!!! I really liked the breakfast. They have noodled rice breads and really good fruits and more and more!! I think even tuktuk drivers in front of the hotel is kind and nice (they don't rip you off ) !!

Friendly staff, clean atmosphere, great service!!!

It was more thatn Amazing :) I stayed in the hotel for 2 months and it was perfect. Staffs were really nice, so I felt like being at home!!! They prepared really delicious breakfast for us everyday, and room was really clean and neat. I really loved the spacious restroom. Closet was so useful. I also liked friendly atmosphere in the garden. If you are to come here and fell real cambodia and real amenities , no need for second thought! this would be the perfect one for you!!!!!

Hôtel à taille humaine fort agréable

À première vue l'hôtel ne paie pas de mine, en franchissant le portail cependant on découvre un petit hôtel de moins de 10 chambres avec un charme certain. Les chambres ont tout le confort nécessaire. Le petit déjeuner dans le patio est fort agréable.

Ok - will do if on a budget

Small hotel. Only about 10 rooms. Room is lovely big, hot shower and cold Aircon. Wifi is also good. But staff don't speak English and arnt helpful with visas or tours. Went to the hotel next door to get visa for Vietnam. City is a bit boring I think. And this hotel is far away from the main centre. 20mins from the river. Would advise to stay closer to the river. Not in town.
