Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the 5-Star Rating
I stayed at Diar El Andalous with my husband and our 4-month-old baby for a family trip. While the hotel’s general condition and rooms are acceptable, our overall experience was far from what one would expect from a 5-star hotel.
From the moment we checked in, we noticed an unpleasant pipeline-like smell that would come and go. The towels were in very poor condition—worn out and far from the standards of a luxury hotel.
One of the biggest issues we faced was the lack of consideration from the housekeeping staff. Despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign and the fact that our baby was sleeping after an early feeding, they consistently spoke loudly outside our door, even discussing why we hadn't left the room yet—as if to pressure us into leaving so they could clean. We finally went out, only to return to a room that hadn’t been touched. When they eventually came, I requested only fresh towels, but they insisted on cleaning the room, forcing us out again. Yet, even after that, the glasses were not replaced and the bed sheets remained unchanged, despite our request.
The most distressing part of our stay, however, was my severe illness. I contracted a gastrointestinal infection after eating at the hotel. I suffered from diarrhea, nausea, and had to visit the doctor twice. We had to leave the hotel for 24 hours due to my condition.
