Very disappointing — Luxury prices, substandard service. Having enjoyed a previous stay at one of the Nobu Hotel Chicago suites, I was shocked by the decline in service during our recent visit. 1. Credit card charge: At check-in, staff explicitly confirmed I could pay in cash at checkout, yet the hotel charged my card against our agreement, without my consent. 2. Disregard for privacy: Housekeeping repeatedly knocked insistently despite our privacy indicator being activated. 3. Poor housekeeping: We found towels in unacceptable condition. When we requested an inspection of the existing towels, staff simply left a stack of extras without addressing the issue. We were not asking for more towels. 4. Unresponsive reception: Calls to the front desk frequently went unanswered. 5. Lack of hospitality: No luggage assistance from the doorman and not even a cordial greeting upon arrival. I chose to raise these concerns privately with the General Manager before posting a review, but received no response. The architecture, interiors and views are impressive, but cannot compensate for poor hospitality and a lack of accountability. At this price point, the experience was unacceptable. I strongly discourage others from booking this hotel.
