We found this home to be clean, comfortable, pretty well-equipped, and possessing amazing views. Our group of three families (with kids ages 3-12) enjoyed the hot tub, outdoor dining table and fire place, the deck chairs, pool table, and Weber grill.
A few things to note:
-Check-in is a little late compared to most places we’ve stayed, but when we realized the week before the company did say we could check in a little earlier (for a fee).
-Communication with the hosts was quick and responsive.
-Internet is not very fast
-We navigated the road up the mountain fine in our minivans and Honda Pilot, but it was a little difficult to navigate the first time in the dark. Getting up and down the road in the winter seems like it would be very difficult and scary, even with an AWD vehicle.
-The kitchen was well-equipped and even had two dishwashers! They need to purchase some more bowls (feedback I already gave them), but otherwise it had everything we needed for cooking and eating.
-There was a thunderstorm our last night and we lost power around 9 pm. As of check out at 11 am the next morning it had not been restored. We were glad we were leaving as it would have been challenging to deal with much longer. Being prepared with more flashlights/lanterns (the cabin had one small lantern) and plenty of clean water would have been helpful.
Some nearby activities we did that were fun or saw and might enjoy another time:
-Renting a pontoon and tube at Prince Boat Dock was a highlight!
-Easy hiking to see waterfalls in Great Smoky Mtn National Park from the Deep Creek Trail Trailhead.
-River tubing looked fun!
-Bryson City is a cute town and looked like a nice place to explore sometime.
We could see ourselves meeting up at this spot again!
