  • Everything needed for an ideal vacation at your doorstep. Lakeside hammock, covered deck, outside deck, corn hole (bean bag board game), seesaw, 2 mile walk/jog/run path, 33ft dock (whips and swim ladder), year round 4-person hot tub with TV, swim raft (10ft deep), mooring (13ft deep), two 10ft kayaks, 14ft canoe, dinghy/rowboat, Solo Stove (exterior fire pit), wood burning fireplace, firewood, basketball hoop, and great stargazing. Row or drive 1 mile to breakfast at Ames Farm Inn during the summer.

    Nine minutes to Bank of New Hampshire Pavillion [concert venue fka Meadowbrook], eleven minutes to Gunstock Recreation Area [winter snow skiing, summer zipline/ropes course/hiking], and sixteen minutes to Weirs Beach [classic Drive In, arcades, boardwalk, beach, etc].

    Three bedrooms with a queen bed in each one, den/playroom with bunk bed [two twins] and a single twin bed. Four heat pump/AC units, large 6-burner propane grill, dishwasher, microwave, Wi-Fi, HD cable, Mr. Coffee maker, K-Cup machine, clothes washer & dryer.

    Note: there are standard beds for nine, but the property can sleep up to twelve - three “full sized” Millard Premium folding beds with memory foam mattresses are available [standard cots are only 26” wide … these are 38” wide]

    Linens and bath towels provided. Last house on a “dead end” street – plenty of parking for vehicles and/or trailers.

We love this home on Alton Bay. The host was very helpful and easy to work and communicate with. A 13 minute drive to Gunstock ski mountain.

It was a great location. The views and the sunset and sunrises were spectacular. Access to the canoe and kayaks were excellent. It was nice to have different types of games.

Just what was needed

This location is a fantastic spot on the lake. The house is well laid out, has fantastic amenities and the nice little touches make you feel like you are home away from home. Jamie is a great host, very responsive and is a quick phone call away if needed. Just what our family needed.

This is a great property, well maintained, with all of the amenities that you typically need. Plus its only a short drive to several restaurant's, stores, and shopping. The owner is extremely responsive, accommodating, and was also very proactive with communication as well. We stayed here 2 years ago and will stay here again.

The owner Jamie and the property are awesome.It is right on the water and has many amenities.The property is close to restaurants and shopping.We have been staying in this area for the last 20 years until the owner sold and we neede a new place to stay.I would say we would 100% stay again.

Great location and great amenities. The view is absolutely amazing, interior and exterior spaces are comfortable and spacious, kayaks and a canoe were nice touches, the dock and swimming platform made swimming easy and fun. Easy access to Mt. Major and other hiking, as well as local restaurants.

Perfect Location for a Grande vacation with family

This property was absolutely amazing. Our family had a fantastic time and enjoyed our stay very much. This property had everything we needed for the week. It was clean, comfortable, spacious, private and quiet. The location was very close to shopping, activities and restaurants. Great cottage

This cottage is outstanding, especially for a family. The hot tub, beach, dock, kayaks, canoe and swim raft are steps away from the house- which is in a quiet and secluded neighborhood. The 2.3 mile walking trail is perfect for kids and dogs. We keep coming back and it gets better every time!

Great Weekend

Great experience and perfect location for a sunny weekend. The house was exactly what we needed and had plenty of activities and things to do. Being right on the water was fantastic. Jamie was extremely responsive to all questions. Would stay again!

Location, Location, Location!!! This family home is located at the end of a very quiet street with plenty of parking for multiple cars and boat trailers. The views of the lake from the wall of windows is breathtaking! We brought multiple motorized watercraft but the hosts provide boats for paddlers. Swim raft, hammock and solo stove (with wood) were an added plus; there is even a hot tub which we did not have the time to enjoy. Great 2 mile walking loop for exercise. Jamie was very detailed in his communication and in-house instructions were clear. Hope to return to Acorn Acres!

Fantastic Family Vacation!

This house and location was perfect for us. It had everything we needed for a fun and restful time. Jamie is the best host, all questions and needs answered very promptly. He really wanted us to be comfy and have the best time. This was our third vacation here! Hope to come back!

Wonderful Lake House!

House sits right on the water with excellent views from the porch and main living area. The house was fully stocked with all the essentials as well as many toys (hot rub, canoe, kayak, fire pit, etc.) The owner was very responsive and really knows how to manage rental properties. We fully recommend this VRBO property and will likely come back next year.

Alton Bay

This is our second time staying at this property. We are a small group of retired FDNY. We come to laconia yearly for bike week. The Home and the property are amazing and the owner takes well care of it. If the views weren’t enough Jamie has all the amenities and accessories there to enjoy yourself.Close to dining and wiers beach.I highly recommend staying here if your visiting or vacationing in the area

A few days at the lake

Clean, well equipped appliances. The dock can be tough to dock a boat. But all in all this is one of the better houses I have to stay at on the lake.

The listing doesn't do this place justice!

What an amazing spot. The cleanliness of this house was refreshing right when we walked in... fresh flowers, mints on pillows. The view!!! wow. From the view, layout, beds, coziness and cleanliness the listing and pic's don't do it justice. We had friends and family in the area as well and the house was perfect to entertain family dinner.
