Excellent

This was a perfect venue for a family holiday the child friendly pool was ideal for young children and adults. The accommodation was excellent with lots of sunny and shady sitting and dining/barbecue areas. The hosts were excellent. We will definitely return.

Brilliant and firmly recommended

Villa Drydakia is amazing. All facilities needed are in the property for a great stay. Pool is lovely, large and refreshing. Gardens and wildlife are awesome. Location is superb - less then 5 minutes drive and about 10 minutes walk into Vamos centre. Cannot recoomend highly enough and will definately try to stay there again !! You will not be disappointed

beautiful and welcoming Villa

we stayed with the family for one week in the villa and had a great time. The villa is beautiful, the house was very clean, nicely furnished and the view was stunning! The Wifi did not work very well so we used our mobile hotspot. The pool is fantastic and the kids spent most of the day in it.. the villa is much nicer than on the images! We will definetly come back.

A relaxing villa with a beautiful view!

After a week in and around Athens, this villa was exactly what the doctor ordered! The perfect place to sit back, relax, and enjoy the beauty of Crete. Everything was as described or better. The villa was in immaculate shape, perfectly clean, and equipped with everything we needed to make our trip spectacular. I’m not sure when we will get back to Crete but I definitely know where we will stay when we do!

Ravissante maison, très bien équipée, en bord de route.

La maison de Jane est ravissante. Tout y est très propre et en bon état (sauf peut-être le lave-vaisselle un peu vieillot et le séchoir à linge rouillé...). Tout y est pour cuisiner, avec tout l'équipement que nous avons chez nous. La décoration est raffinée. La piscine est grande, propre et chaude. La terrasse est magnifique, pourvue de nombreux sièges et tables, à l'ombre ou au soleil. Le linge est fourni, jusqu'aux serviettes de plage. Les moustiquaires sont bien venues. Quelques points négatifs cependant : Le bord d'une route assez passante a été compliqué à gérer pour nous, car nous ne sommes pas habitués à vivre avec les voitures, et que les chambres dominent cette route. Heureusement, j'avais amené des boules Kies. La chambre du bas donne sur un mur, ce qui n'est pas trop agréable. Les climatisations sont bruyantes. Heureusement, il fait frais le soir (même au mois d’août, nous n'avions pas plus de 19 degrés dehors en fin de soirée). La maison est loin de tout. La première plage est à 12-15 minutes. Par contre le petit village (2-3 tavernes, une boulangerie, un mini-market, un bar) est proche. Hormis cela, la maison est vraiment agréable, et Mary et David sont sympathiques.

Relaxing holidays in a beautiful villa!

Jane and Richard's villa is delightful and cosy, with lovely "feminine touches". It's bright and spacious, with three bathrooms and enough space for the four of us to not be on top of each other all the time. It has all you need to have a wonderful holiday: fully equipped kitchen (although a draining board would have been a handy thing to have), a nice sitting area with a flatscreen TV, DVD player and router. The WiFi was very patchy at first and this was a bit of a disappointment, since it was impossible to watch Netflix or have a decent Internet connection and I had to add extra data to my 100GB mobile data dongle! However, during the last week we were there the connection picked up and we were able to use Drydakia East, which had the best reception. Being on holiday with two teenage boys, their main requirements are sun, pool and WiFi, and the first two were there and enjoyed the full two weeks we stayed. The pool is wonderful and really made our holiday, we were very happy just lounging about, also because of the hot temperatures which didn't inspire much site-seeing. The views to the sea from the front and to the White Mountains from the garden are stunning, as are the beautiful pink and white oleander shrubs and, of course(!), the bougainvillea, that adorn the house. My only negative point, which has nothing to do with the owners, was the constant attacks by mosquitoes. I suffered their bites from morning till night, even though we used burning coils and anti-mozzie spray, they are relentless! The caretakers Jane and David were very friendly and helpful and it was nice to be able to speak English with them. We loved the little village of Vamos and its hospitable and welcoming inhabitants! Stella, who runs the local museum, is quite a character and I found it rather amusing to see Socialist and anti-Farage magazines lying in the window. After I enquired about that, she said that she is "leftist" and supports Jeremy Corbyn... She asks 2 euro for a visit and for another 2 euro she serves a delicious Greek coffee! George of the "Douwe Egberts" café is lovely and his Dad makes the most delicious ice cream! On the other side of the road, in the Minimarket, you are helped by lovely Irini at the till. Most people speak (some) English, but with Google Translate you can get by very well. There's also a nice artisan (work) shop where a lady called Natasha makes beautifully painted earthenware. We want to come back to Crete for sure!

Entspannter Aufenthalt in wunderschöner Ferienvilla!

Ferienhaus genauso vorgefunden wie in der Objektbeschreibung. Erwartungen wurden in Sachen Ausstattung noch übertroffen. Der Pool ist das absolute Highlight! Durch die Alleinlage ist ein Mietwagen zu empfehlen. Kontakt sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Haben uns durchweg wohlgefühlt und empfehlen diese Ferienvilla gern weiter.

Everything about this place is great. The Pool, the gardens, the comfortable interior and the lovely cool breeze that blows through the place when the windows are open. We loved it. The only drawback were the vicious mozzies which loved us !

Wonderful!

We had such a wonderful time. The villa was in a perfect location with stunning views and felt like home the minute we arrived, nobody wanted to leave. It was perfect for the whole family and we will definitely revisit sometime in the future. Communication with the owner was brilliant from the moment of booking continuing throughout our stay. Wonderful villa on outskirts of traditional village

Lovely villa with views over Souda bay from the northfacing rooms and the White Mountains everywhere else! Great pool, lots of outside seating areas, all in excellent condition. The villa is just outside walking distance from the village and beaches are a good drive away, but the villa more than makes up for it. We had a brilliant relaxing time here. No hesitation in recommending it.

Wonderful spot, amazing views from the house

Really nice villa. Very well maintained. Beautiful views. One of the most important things for us was that it was COOL in August. Not easy to find on Crete in August but that's because this is up in the mountains. Still only a 15 minute drive to the beach. Vamos is lovely, great old Greek chorio.

Beautifully presented family villa

An idyllic location, beautiful views, spacious and well equipped villa with very private and welcoming pool. Very well presented, spacious villa with many personal touches and everything you need for a very relaxing holiday. Located half a kilometre from very friendly village of Vamos which has a mini market, a few bars and tavernas, an excellent health centre and many streets to wander and explore. Lovely beaches within a 15 minute drive at Almyrida and Kalyves with sand, sun beds and a good choice of tavernas and restaurants. Only 35 minutes to the charming town and port of Chania. Thank you for a wonderful stay and would definitely hope to return.

Can not beat this villa. It has everything needed for a great family holiday.

This villa and location is perfect to enjoy an old world village with a modern, everything you possibly need villa. The pool, lounge chairs and umbrellas made it for our family. The views of the Mediterranean Sea from the front balconies and the White Mountains from the backyard are incredible. The Vamos Information Office was incredible and steered you in the right direction based on your interest. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it for anyone that wants to be away from the beach front hotel crowds and want to experience the real Crete.

Everything going we expected and more - loved it the villa was perfect for our needs

We did have difficulty finding it though. We think instructions could have been clearer esp as we were driving at night. A good map would have been most helpful and we found one in the house ! But don't let that affect anybody's judgment as this is a great place and we will certainly go again.Only regret is that we didn't have more time to explore ! So, to sum up great villa nice situation lovely locals cheap meals and good restaurants nearby. We'll be back for more next year - despite the mozzies - ha - ha !
