“This hotel has basic amenities and it's proximity to the beach is wonderful. The service is exceptional and the people who work there are so wonderful. This is not a luxurious hotel by any means, but would I stay here again, yes I would. Basic comforts were provided, including a mosquito net over the bed and a mosquito repellant plug in (much needed for the third friend who didn't have a mosquito net over her single bed). “Amazing stay at Anantara in Tangalle. Staff is helpful and welcoming. Especially Piyal our butler who made every effort to make our stay and unforgettable one. Rooms are spacious and clean, as well as the bathroom with a nice rain shower. The bed is really comfortable. Restaurants at the resort are good, we really enjoyed the Italian restaurant Il Mare (Risottos are delicious)”

“Hotel felt dated and neglected. The breakfast was cold and inedible, so we ate out each morning. However, we felt it would have been pointless telling the staff as they seemed uninterested and like they had their spirit broken. The room was dirty and sheet were stained, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It needs shutdown and given a deep deep deep clean then remodelled. I suspect the owner or manager need to try and build up their staffs morale as the staff were so unhappy it felt awkward. ”

“Elegant and a very beautiful super large villa with excellent maintenance. Very clean and comfortable rooms with modern bathrooms . Natural showers are something unique. Sea-bath was fantastic. The karaoke facility was a pleasant surprise and it was such good fun after dinner, which gave great entertainment to our small group . Breakfast was fabulous. Our stay was 5 star. Amazing place. Highly recommended .”

“The Cabanas was very spacious and nice. There is NO hot water for a shower which is not mentioned in the posting. There is not a separate "sitting area." The cabana is in a beautiful setting but you have to take a Tuk Tuk to town. It is next door to a restaurant. The breakfast is the traditional Sri Lankan Breakfast. Please note that they do not accept credit cards (which is poor) so you have to pay in local currency.”

“Wasn't very clean especially the bathroom. No where to place anything in the room, had to use floor. Poor lighting in room, only I of 3 lights worked. No toilet roll or soap provided, had to ask for toilet roll. No dustbin in room or bathroom. This is a homestay, not a hotel. Breakfast was good and they attanged a scooter hire for me. Sadly when I went to leave things turned nasty by both the father and son, claiming I needed to pay for the room and breakfast. I booked via Hotels.com a company...
