Very convenient location, and cleaning staff did well. Comfortable bedding. However, the overall condition and appearance of the room was lacking and the bathroom is in need of renovation/remodeling as the tub/shower was not easy to use and quite honestly could be dangerous for an older person to use.

Residence Hotel is perfectly located! It’s close to the Gondola, Kemo Sabe and many wonderful restaurants and shopping! The rooms are spacious and the decor is very warm 😍

Absolutely wonderful boutique hotel. Rooms were beautiful, bed was very comfortable, very clean, and the Owners are so hospitable. The location is within walking distance of most everything. An absolute must stay in Aspen.

This was perhaps one of the nicest suite of rooms we've ever stayed in. Impeccably furnished in European style, and the location was outstanding. We had some issues with our heat and it was serviced in very short order. Highly recommend!

Excellent stay! For older people and people with heavy luggage, there are 10-12 stairs to get to the room level; there is no elevator. Finding parking is a bit of a challenge, but there is a pass provided.

This was such a charming place to stay. The location couldn't have been any better. We were given a parking permit to park in residential areas (which are very close by). You can walk everywhere. There are roughly 8 suites all located on the top floor of the historic Aspen Block Building. The finishes & furnishings are top notch including a full kitchen. Amazing that it is also pet friendly. We couldn't have been happier with our stay. Highly recommend!

This is not a hotel in the usual sense. It is an unmanned group of rooms (8-10 ?) at the top of a long, steep, narrow staircase (18 steps) from street level. It is very central and convenient but there are no staff to let you in, help carry baggage up stairs or answer questions or attend to any needs. Street doorway and room entry are by key codes sent to you in advance. I can only comment on room number 8. Beds and room were clean but the two bedrooms were separated by a shared bathroom without locks in either doors. In fact the doorway from one bedroom to the bathroom was a pair of swinging doors (saloon-style). All OK if used for a family with kids but totally inappropriate for two adult couples. Interior decor is as advertised. Eclectic and very old-fashioned with wall to wall mirrors. Very unusual but functional. For certain guests this might all be fine but for others this it could cause problems or be unworkable. For us the three big issues were (1) Safely carrying suitcases up the stairs (2) Not having a front desk or on-site staff for security or questions (3) Non locking bathroom straddling the two bedrooms. Really a bit of a misnomer to call it a “Deluxe Suite.”

There was no one at the hotel - you had to walk up a full flight of stairs to get up to your room- there were 3 steps to get up to the tub/shower slippery in tub and hard to get in and out - the place looks nothing like it does online - I wouldn’t stay there again even if it was free

Property is a classic! We enjoyed the historic paired with the modern style of the hotel and room. The bed and pillows were comfy and all the mirrors gave the room a nice touch. The showet area was updated which was a nice surprise and touch. The only down sife was the heater took a really long time to heat the room.

Very cute concept and clever room idea. But time for a bit of an update - fabric walls were frayed with some dirty spots. Paint touch up is also needed. Nice stand alone fireplace in the room with a Duralog provided. Parking was difficult because we were there at a busy time and parking has to be on a residual street with a parking permit.

Used ear plugs each night to get to sleep. Little insulation between rooms & outside wall. Shower beautiful but open & cold. Parking not reserved, find something on the street 1/4 mile away.

This is a boutique hotel that is very swanky and in an idyllic location in Aspen and easy walk to the slopes. The drawbacks to the property are the way the layout of the rooms we stayed in suite 8 there is two bedrooms and a bathroom that connects between them, but the toilet is not walled off so you gotta be comfortable going to the bathroom in front of your friends…. To make matters worse the rooms are not even entirely walled off Suite 7 to the right of us. You could hear the people in their bathroom and even see the light shining from their bathroom through the door crack in one of the bedrooms. Overall, this would be a great place to stay with family, but not the most ideal with friends or acquaintances.

Unique hotel stay in downtown Aspen

We loved our stay at The Residence Hotel. The hotel is super convenient to Aspen Mtn for skiing. The gondola is less than a 10 min walk! The room was spacious which we appreciated with our 2 dogs. The bed was extremely comfortable and we enjoyed having a little kitchen to make coffee/tea and breakfast in the morning. We will certainly stay again when visiting Aspen.

Lavish old world surroundings with sitting area and kitchen. Good location for walking and restaurants and shopping next door. Stairs could have been a problem if we were not in good shape.
