We had the most fantastic holiday at Casa Emilia. It hit the mark for everyone in our group: grandparents in their 70s, 40-something parents and a young 3-year-old - from the trampoline-with-a-view, clean and modern pool, table football and spacious kitchen and dining areas indoors and out, to the tranquil 'prosecco terrace', luxurious bathrooms and quality linens. The rockery garden was abuzz with hummingbird hawk-moths, cicadas and swallowtail butterflies, and we were all spied over by large circling birds of prey.
With so much to enjoy, it was a shame not to spend all our time at the villa, but we made the most of being within an hour's drive of Assisi, Orvieto and Todi for some memorable cultural visits too.
The steep slope to access the property would probably not suit visitors with limited mobility/adventurous toddlers and Scoppieto village may be a bit quiet for lively teens. For us it was perfect. We flew to Perugia airport, an hour away, and hired a car, which was essential.
