Both the rental property and the host are outstanding. It's the kind of place you never want to leave, and Eli's the kind of host you'd want to call "friend" for the rest of your life.
We traveled through Hurricane Helene to reach the property. On arrival I found quite a few text messages on my smart phone. These were all from Eli, concerned about our safety and notifying us of damage to the area. The power was out on arrival, and Eli asked what we wanted to do.
We opted to stay. This was a smart choice. The power was back an hour later. The remainder of the trip was smooth sailing except for a minor dead battery "chirp" in the smoke alarm. We texted Eli, who was attending an event. He dropped everything and showed up with a ladder to remedy the situation.
The property is nearly perfect in appearance, luxury, cleanliness and performance. The kitchen is well equipped. The only things we wanted for were a sheet pan, broiler pan, and a lighter.
The screened in porch is a study in understated perfection. Inset steps, minimalist white molding, solid pine flooring, substantial columns, a soothing color palette and ceiling fans combine to make this bug-free zone ideal for appreciating the sway of the Spanish moss dangling from the live oaks.
This property was the perfect location from which to launch our exploration of the Beaufort area. Superb for a couple. Wonderful for a couple plus 1. Doable for a small family.
