Stunning, Cozy Cabin with Gorgeous Views!
We really enjoyed the spacious yet cozy energy of this log cabin, and how well appointed the entire layout is. Our 2 teens had their own private spaces up in the loft. Plus - the photos online do not do the view justice! I was pleasantly surprised by how fantastic the view actually was from this location. There are close neighboring cabins in this spot, but it was a non-issue for a winter-trip. The full size games in the basement level were an added bonus! Absolutely loved the wood stove. We had a relaxing and adventurous time along the North Shore, and this was a wonderful home-base for hanging out and cozying up!

A Perfect Place To Wind Down After A Day Of Exploring!
The cabin itself is breathtaking. Especially once you find the book documenting its construction. One of the things I particularly enjoyed was no internet. We just played board games and experienced the surroundings instead of having our noses buried in our phones! Great time, great view, not far from anything touristy to do, I love to stay here again.

Wonderful retreat
Our family (with a teenager and 20 year old) stayed here for a long weekend to just get away from our everyday stress and this was a perfect place! It was clean, comfortable and welcoming. The scenery was beautiful and we found lots to see in the area. It was well stocked and communication with the owners was easy. Highly recommended!

6 stars! Just wow!
Walking in after a 12 hour drive, we dropped our bags in awe. The pictures here don’t do justice. It must be experienced in person. Sarah and Marc have done an exceptional job with the place. First, the location is breathtaking. Immerse yourself in beautiful solitude while everything you could ever need is provided. There’s no Wi-Fi and limited cell reception, but if that’s what you’re looking for, why are you here? The cabin with its massive logs and spacious rooms, loft, ideal kitchen space, big windows, and well chosen decor is absolutely perfect. We found it to be clean and well cared for. Communication is great. Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful North Shore Cabin
The cabin was beautiful and so very well stocked with supplies. The owners were good about answering questions quickly and the view of the lake was wonderful. It was a great location for enjoying so many of the beautiful state parks along the North Shore. Our two grandsons also had great fun with the game table in the basement. Also a great fire pit with benches outside.

Lovely Log Cabin
We try and do the North Shore every year, and this year we decided to stay in a private home, rather than a resort. The home was comfortable to absolutely gorgeous. Sarah was super easy to work with, and we will definitely add this listing to our favorites.

Weekend on the North Shore
This cabin was clean, well maintained, comfortable beds and stocked with everything we needed. We used it as our home base while we explored the north shore for a long weekend. It was right in the middle of everything we wanted to see. Great cabin!

Beautiful cabin. Great craftsmanship. Very cozy and charming. Beautiful setting with view of the lake. The hosts were also very helpful, communicated with us often, and make sure we have issues with our stay. Can't wait to stay there again.

This cabin provided everything we were looking for for a winter getaway. From the kindling and logs stacked next to the stove, to Sarah going WAY out of her way to ensure the driveway was salted prior to our arrival, this was an ideal getaway. We will absolutely be back.

Snowmobile trip

MN North Shore Fall Get Away
When we walked in the front door we immediately felt the warmth of home away from home. Very inviting, all our expectations of a log vacation home we’re met. The home was meticulous the view spectacular. The wood burning stove was our greatest enjoyment after coming home from the days activity’s. We are already planning 2023 vacation to this log cabin. Friendly Host
I wanted a quiet little get away to send my parents to after they helped out with our newborn. Our host, Sarah, was quick to respond and made all of our requests come true. A really great experience
The cabin was spotlessly clean when we arrived and had absolutely everything we could have possibly needed. The location is perfect - it's very quiet and secluded but really well situated between all of the great activities and places to visit. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back some day.

Beautiful Cabin in Peaceful Setting
We loved this cabin and wish we could have stayed longer. It's in a great location perfect for relaxing along the North Shore. Cabin is in immaculate condition and was a great size for five people (four adults and one child). Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Stay
We had a wonderful experience at the split rock cabin. It was clean, cozy, and central to all the hiking trails we wanted to experience. We also got to experience a baby bear wandering the property on our last day, it was amazing! Sarah was great to work with, with open communication, expectations, and knowledge about the area. Restful Woods

Great time
Chose this cabin to go snowmobiling with my wife and another couple. Cabin is beautiful inside and worked great. Location is not right on any trail system but can snowmobile right from cabin (to nearest trail in beaver bay), have to be willing to ride ditches and a little road, approx a mile. Driveway is steep (shared driveway with our cabins) and parking isn’t ideal for anyone with bigger than 16-18’ trailer but worked for us. There is an open spot at the end of driveway for trailer. Overall cabin is very nice, wood burner works great, well stocked.

Cozy Winter Getaway
Our family stayed at Split Rock Log Cabin for a long weekend. It did not disappoint. The log cabin is tucked on the hillside with beautiful views of Lake Superior. We enjoyed the wood-burning stove in the evenings after full days of snowmobiling. The loft was a hit for our kids (perfect layout for fort building) and they took full advantage of the foosball and air hockey tables. This is a perfect place to escape during any season with a great location. We'll be back!

Family North Shore Snowmobile Weekend
We can across this while looking for a nice relaxing cabin to come back to after snowmobiling. It certainly didn’t disappoint. We arrived in the evening so we didn’t see the views when we arrived, but the inside of the cabin was amazing enough. When we woke up, then we saw the beautiful view looking over the lake with the towering pines. It’s definitely a nice way to enjoy your morning coffee. Our 2 young daughters loved the loft area and looking out at the lake. At night we made a simple dinner, built a little fire in the little fireplace, and watched a movie. After a day out on the snowmobile trails, the cabin was definitely a nice treat to come back to. When it came time to leave, our girls didn’t want to go. Hopefully we will be back to enjoy the cabin to enjoy the views in the near future. As far as snowmobiling & access, we parked our large 7x27 enclosed trailer at the bottom of the shared driveway, locked it up for the night and drove the truck up to the cabin. In the morning we trailered to a trail-head north of Silver Bay. This actually worked out really well. I’m about 70% sure I could have gotten it up the hill, turned around and backed into the driveway. It is steep and it is narrow. A smaller trailer definitely would go, but I recommend scoping out the route first. Riding directly out of the cabin can be done, but it’s not a clear well traveled path to the trail in town. What we did worked very well. For anyone looking for an amazing cabin with great views, I would certainly recommend it.

Perfect Winter Get Away
My husband and I absolutely loved this cabin. It’s filled with beautiful sunlight, stunning views, and it was extremely clean. There is so much space to sprawl out and enjoy being together. The hosts were great- helpful and easy to get a hold of. We can’t wait to come back.
