The condo at Shanty Creek has a great location to many places in Northern Michigan. Was there for 5 weeks. Condo is very nice n the host Dale was super accommodating. The only issue we had was the noise level in the complex. When people were next door and upstairs, it was loud. Didnt happen much, not alot of people there except wknds. So overall, a great experience! Highly recommended.

Awesome Golf Weekend

All dealings with the property owner were very smooth and easy. The property was exactly as listed. We truly enjoyed a wonderful weekend of golf and fellowship and this property helped facilitate that experience.

Long weekend

It was a long weekend trip to see beautiful Michigan. The place was very clean and not a far drive from everything we wanted to see. Very easy to talk to the owner and he responds very quickly. Great place to stay.

Cozy and well-managed

The owners must have a background in hospitality - everything was well thought out. They were proactive with communication and checking in was very easy. The unit is cozy and nicely decorated. It’s a short drive to skiing and the pool access was nice when the weather wasn’t.

Great property!

We can’t say enough great things about our stay and Dale’s beautiful condo! It was everything we could have hoped for. Right from the start communication was excellent. Check in was flawless and our one question was answered promptly. The kitchen is as well stocked as my own, the furniture was comfortable and the bedrooms were clean. Getting to the restaurant was a 2 minute walk and the food was excellent. I wish I could attach pictures of the view, the deer, and the turkeys off the deck. This unit will be our first choice for next year’s color tour. Petoskey, Torch Lake, Suttons, and Leelanau (Fish Town) were all easy beautiful drives that brought us back to Shanty Creek in time for dinner. Thank you Dale for a great stay!

Shanty Creek resort

The condo was nice. I liked the backyard view sitting on back deck. The condo was located close to Bellare, Charlevoix, and not far from Traverse City. We visited all 3 places good time.

Great Stay in Northern Michigan

We had a great week, the location as perfect for us. Close to nearby attractions, but far enough way to relax. (We were there in the summer, so snow in the winter would likely make this a different experience being next to a ski resort). The property was very clean. We had some TV and internet issues to start, but after exchanging a few text messages with the owner Dale, we were able to getting everything sorted out within 24hrs. The kitchen is well stocked for your vacation cooking needs. All the basics are there for both cooking and baking. It has a single cup Keurig and a traditional drip coffee machine. The unit has a new dishwasher and plenty of dishwasher pods were available. The washer and dryer were helpful. There is a Dollar General store less than 5 minutes away that was able to fill all those little things we didn't want to pack (laundry soap, foil, paper napkins). The traditional grocery store was also very close and offered online ordering to make that task quick and easy! Checkout tasks were all reasonable - 0 issues. We found it to be a good place to stay with 2 younger kids. There is a trunk filled with kids games and a few toys. An outdoor playground is just a short walk away, and having access to the resort pool was a nice bonus. Just a 15-20 drive from the condo, we found a nice park on Torch lake with public access (William Good Day Park) and just across the street from that park is a public access point to Lake Michigan (Torch Bay Nature Preserve).

Shanty Creek Condo

Location was perfect. Owner always responded right away. Two bedrooms each with a bathroom was perfect. The only downside was that the internet did not work. We had to pay and use our own hotspot to watch tv. The dock space was very convenient also. Loved clam lake/torch lake and will be back.

Summer in Northern Michigan!

Dale's condo at Shanty Creek resort lived up to all of the photos and description. We had 2 large bedrooms with 2 full beds each, 2 full baths, a well equipped kitchen (tons of pots/pans/dishes/glasses, even a crock pot!), in-unit laundry, and a living room with fireplace/big TV, board games/books, and a nice view of slopes off the deck. We were treated to a passing gaggle of wild turkeys outside on a few mornings! In addition, we also took advantage of access to the Shanty Creek outdoor and indoor pools. They are a very short walk from the unit. Check-in was easy with the supplied access code. Dale also checked in with us via text to see how we settled in. I would recommend this property as a home-base for your outdoor northern Michigan adventures!

We really enjoyed the property and the view from the rooms! Tons of wildlife, It was very clean and had everything you need to cook in the kitchen which we did the whole time we visited. I'd also recommend using the boat rental place they suggest they were so amazing and helpful. You are close to a grocery store , and some good shopping places Bellaire and Alden! (Mill house spice is our number one stop when he comes up). There is an awesome trail head pretty close by to! It's about 45 mins from traverse City depending where you want to go, we will definitely be staying again A couple things in the listing I'd like to point out *USE THE BEACH CLUB PASS! We didn't take advantage of it as we had our trip mostly planned and decided to on our last day before we left and we would of definitely squeezed in going everyday! It was beautiful and had so much sporting equipment and a awesome beach and play area (we had kids 6/8) The pool was really nice also so definitely use the pass! Grills - so it says there are grills available to use they are pretty far from the rooms themselves and they were not clean, that did cause a hitch in our cooking plans but we were able to make due with the kitchen, Fire pits - so there is a fire pit to share not a private one it was available the whole time we were there it does say that in the listing but I just wanted to add there is about 5 of them out there so if you go out early enough we snagged one the entire time . There is wood to!
