We were 3 families with 6 kids (11-14) and 5 adults. The enclosed backyard was big enough for everyone to do what they wanted all at the same time--sledding down the main hill, making a snowman, building a track to one side for faster and more contained sledding, having a snowball fight. It was so convenient not having to drive somewhere to find great snowplay! The house has a bunch of sleds but we all brought our own stuff so we had tons of options. Kitchen was very well stocked with plenty of mugs, plates, bowls, utensils, cooking supplies. We played air hockey a ton inside--it's loud but awesome. In the garage, we needed to wear jackets but we played ping pong and foosball a bunch too. Temp in the house was great, both upstairs and downstairs. Because of the snow piles on the sides of the driveway, we had to fit two cars side by side with the third car longways behind them in order to follow the Big Bear rule of no street parking at rentals. It was no big deal. One thing to note is that the ice maker needed time to make ice so check that when you get there! Ordering pizza delivery took 2 hr so loading up on groceries at Vons was the way to go. Easy drive to Bear Mtn slopes. Oh and another rentals standard due to a Big Bear law that you should know--you have to take all your trash with you and toss it into dumpsters in the village. They provide you with the dumpster locations. We took advantage of the one free ski rental package -- read through the long email you get from the mgmt property once you book so you don't miss it. Would definitely rent this place again!
