Arrived on a Friday evening after dark and found the short, incredibly steep driveway to be covered in snow/ice. Was unable to get front wheel drive car up driveway. Contacted management company and they said I needed to drive 5 miles down to their office, park car there and Uber 5 miles back to property since public parking on street was prohibited and would result in a $500 ticket from city of Big Bear.
My frustration with the Management company is they did not clean, salt or shovel driveway prior to our arrival having reserved property several days in advance. Management acknowledged they had been to the property but didn’t bother to shovel the driveway (i.e. property MANAGEMENT).
Early the next morning (Saturday) my kids and I took about 15-20 minutes and shoveled/scraped the snow off the driveway so it was entirely clean and free of snow/ice. I sent pictures of the driveway clean after we did this the next morning and managements response was that we should’ve had a 4 wheel drive vehicle. My response to that is this: we drove over 90 miles to visit with absolutely ZERO issues with traction, snow/ice, etc on any of the roads the entire way, except for driving up steep, short driveway covered in ice/snow. w/ no uber available our family had to walk approx 1/2 a mile through neighborhood to catch trolley. Also, called customer service on drive up for question about check in and was given code to door and advised no check in required. This was also incorrect info
