Carrie's Escape | Authentic Log Cabin Walking Distance to Camp Rockmont!

  • Esta cabaña aislada fue construido en 1947 a partir de los registros producidos en los 16 acres de tierra de los alrededores. En la cresta anterior, EW Grove tenía la intención de construir una segunda Grove Park Inn. A pesar de su muerte puso fin a sus planes, las carreteras en zigzag incorporados al sitio están grabados en la ladera y el camino de entrada se ajusta parcialmente a que el acceso inicial. Totalmente renovado, la cabina tiene un techo alto, gran sala con una chimenea de piedra y vigas de madera, paneles de pino con nudos a lo largo, armarios cedro-alineados, pisos de madera y teja y unas vistas fabulosas. Una bomba de calor geotérmica instalada en 2012 proporciona energía instantánea, verde para calentar y enfriar. Desde la intimidad y la calma del porche, el centro de Cerro Negro se encuentra a menos de 10 minutos al este y el centro de Asheville se encuentra a 20 minutos al oeste de la cabina. Para amantes de la naturaleza, pavo salvaje y el oso son vistos regularmente en la propiedad. Para los excursionistas, su aventura comienza justo detrás de las puertas francesas del porche de sol. Para asistentes al festival HOJA en Camp Rockmont, esta propiedad se encuentra junto al recinto del festival.

This is an authentic log cabin experience.My dad, brother and myself stayed for Father’s Day weekend, and we all loved it.It is exactly as described, very well maintained, as well as very clean. All the restaurants we went to were within 10 minutes, and easy to find. The location was my favorite part. The property is lovely, with a nice Mountain View. We sat outside and were entertained by about a million fireflies in the evenings. They were in the trees, everywhere, and looked like stars in the sky. Just amazing. There were bunnies too. Beautiful place, wonderful experience, would highly recommend for those seeking a private, peaceful setting, with Black Mountain restaurants close by. Would love to come back.

Excellent!

Great location for the LEAF festival! Very clean and well stocked. We enjoyed the fire pit and front porch. Very private and quiet with beautiful view of the mountains. Some wild turkeys showed up in the back yard. So fun!

Mountainview

The space was great as was the amenities offered(very thorough). Sleeping was comfortable. Family visited and also enjoyed. However, the front entrance was rather uneven and difficult to maeuver for us, being seniors.

Carrles escape was a great little cabin with a great view of the mountains! The only downside was the neighbors! In either side of the house there are neighbors which are located down the mountain a little. You can’t see them from the house, but their dogs barked a lot. Besides that, the cabin was super clean and well maintained. The host were quick to answer any questions I had and even sent someone out within a couple of hours to fix the internet. The cabin was cozy and the indoor fireplace kept us warm and made us feel right at home.

Great place and location

We really enjoyed staying here and would come back. Really great setup where it list 3 bedrooms with 4 beds. However there is actual a 4th bedroom that has the 4th bed, small put it worked well. The view is awesome during the day and night time under the stars. The fire pit ads a great touch. The location is very close to downtown Black Mountain. However there are no close grocery stores we found and breakfast out can get expensive. During the winter time you will want to leave your master room and the bedroom at the opposite end bedroom open at night out your room may get very cold. The TV Wi-Fi isn't the best but we use mirror screening from our phone. But if goes out just simple reset the router and wait a couple of minutes and you should be good to go. The kitchen is well stocked with items. There are towels, rags and a roll of toilet paper and hand towels. However you may consider to bringing more if you will be there any length of time. Location is very convenient to Ashville or to head towards Grandfather Mountain. We look forward to coming back.

Great Place - Great Stay

Carrie's Cabin was really amazing - maybe the best VRBO we have ever gotten. The beds were comfy, sheets great, towels aplenty, kitchen perfect, grounds were exceptional. Just can't say enough about this place. We will definitely be back.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It is hard for me to write this review from this past weekend. Our first encounter was 2 black cows standing by the steps. After shewing them away (which we thought was funny) we made it to the front the porch which looked like it had never been swept. The the broom was standing in the corner as if to say "you can sweep the porch". Once in the house we discovered there was no toilet tissue so we had to go back to the store to purchase some. Then we spent the evening trying to connect to DirecTV with no success. After calling our daughter for assistance she suggested we call your on call person. We did and she was absolutely wonderful and did everything she could to help to no avail. So the whole time we were there we had no TV! We tried to take a walk out side only to find there is poison ivy growing everywhere in the yard (front and back) so we stayed in as I am very allergic to this plant. I have used your rentals before and can't say enough good about all the administrative staff. I do feel because I paid over $500 for this rental I should be reimbursed some of my money back. Also, you might want to consider letting that rental property go as It lacks a lot compared to your other properties. Again, I can't say enough, how kind the on call person was to us. We love Granny & Pa's Cabin

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our second year staying in this cabin and we have been so happy with our stay both times. It has a cozy feel but is also spacious for our three families. We enjoyed hiking in the woods and walking around Black Mountain. The Dynamite coffee shop is close by and a great option for good coffee and a relaxing atmosphere. The grounds are also nice for playing outside. The kids enjoyed collecting pine cones and going on "expeditions" in the woods. In the evening we enjoyed reading and doing puzzles by the wood stove. We will be back next year for sure!
