NICE AND COZY

Very nice and cozy with a lot of space for a big family or a large group of friends...Enjoyed the fire pit and the hot tub. The kitchen has everything you need and I like how each bedroom has its own bathroom. Lovely Place.

My family goes on vacation every year, and over the years we’ve stayed in countless condos, cabins, and motels. But this particular property truly was spectacular—it’s a 10 experience, hands down. The cabin is beautifully maintained, spotless, and cozy, with plenty of space for our family to relax and reconnect. It’s filled with so many wonderful qualities! If you’re visiting Asheville, Black Mountain, or Montreat in North Carolina, you simply must book this cabin. It will leave a lasting impression, just like it did for us.

Family memories

Accommodations were awesome plenty of space to have multiple families come together and create family memories together! Movie room and Rec room great for children and adults. Love the view very quiet to listen to nature. We will visit again!

Family Vacation at Happy Bear Lodge

Perfect home for a family vacation of 10. The home was spacious, extremely clean, and the views of the mountains from the deck was a favorite hang out. The hot tub and media room were a plus, as well. Michael and Bernadette were great hosts!

Great Times

The home is truly beautiful and the location was ideal. We had 11 adults and 8 kids between 4-12 years old but room for everyone. Needless to say the theater room was a big hit with the kids.

WONDERFUL FAMILY VACATION

Our hosts were magnificent! Truly enjoyed their luxury vacation home. Each room was perfect for the 4 adult couples. The children had a wonderful time sharing in the entertainment rooms. the view from the gathering /dining room and the master bedroom were beautiful. Highly recommend this for any family gathering or get together for several couples.

Annual Mountain Vacation.

The house was perfect for our crew of three families with teenagers. It was very clean and well equipped. The theater room was a big hit with the large screen tv, comfy seating and popcorn. This is our third year in this neighborhood, and we love the area and will definitely be back.

Amazing New Home with breathtaking view

We visit the mountains every year with family and friends and this home by far has been our best find. Owner was easy to communicate with and was very responsive. Home is beautifully decorated and was perfectly spaced planned . Love that all rooms have their own bathroom. We will be back for sure!

A beautiful cabin with a beautiful view

This cabin was the perfect spot for our friend getaway. The cabin was exactly as pictured. Everything was clean and comfortable. The hot tub water was the most clear I have even seen at a rental cabin. The view is amazing. The owners communicated well in advance so that we were all prepared when we arrived. Our group can be a bit picky and everyone was beyond pleased with this cabin. It made our celebration all the more special.

Family Time

The listing cant quite capture the beauty of the environment where this home is located. The home had a great floor plan for young families- and two grandparents and was perfectly outfitted. It offers hiking and access to both Asheville and Black Mountain and our multigenerational family enjoyed our stay immensely. And the Fall colors…

Home away from home!

There is nothing but positive to say about this home. This was our first away from home holiday vacation and it was perfect! Weather was quite cold the first few days but there is so much to do inside that no one cared. Loved the game room and movie theater. Michael was always available for communication. Only wish we could have stayed longer, maybe indefinitely!

Amazing Property with a View!

Happy Bear Lodge far exceeded our expectations in a vacation rental property. We have stayed in many vacation rentals, and this one was by far the best. The home was immaculately clean when we arrived and we experienced no issues at all while there. The beds were very comfortable and all the furnishings, decor, and kitchen were great. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. The communication from the host Michael was outstanding. He was very helpful in making recommendations in the area as well as the trails. The hike down to the upper Catawba Falls was the highlight of the trip. If you are looking for a first class, easy vacation rental look no further. The hosts have truly thought of every detail. We cannot wait to stay here again in the future.

Loved this property

Beautiful setting. And each bedroom having its own bathroom was a huge plus. Only two very minor issues- the tv in downstairs bedroom 3 wasn’t working properly. Hooked up to Dish but it wouldn’t come on nor would it allow our teen to stream. And the water just wasn’t very hot most of the time at bath/shower time. But everything else was spot on! Furniture was comfy, the view was stunning (hate we didn’t see any wildlife), and just a perfect set up for our family.

Perfect for extended families!

Gorgeous views, spacious home with enough bedrooms and bathrooms for our extended family of 11. Very safe for our 3 toddlers, with a door to the downstairs level and fully protected outdoor space. When we accidentally broke the coffee carafe, they gave us a replacement within 15 minutes! Movie room was a bonus, the laundry room had full size washer and dryer and Wi-Fi worked well. A few quirks…most of the showers were quite small, the trundle bed alcove upstairs (where a toddler slept) had no window coverings and the electrical kept tripping so we had to reset the breaker multiple times. Overall, we would not hesitate to recommend!

Great location near downtown Black Mountain

My group of 5 couples was originally booked to stay on the weekend that the hurricane hit Western NC in September. We are all from Atlanta and were very worried about the predicted direct hit to the metro Atlanta region. We were also a little worried about what would eventually make it to Western NC. We worked with the owners to find a new weekend in December and hoped for the best. The owners were amazing helping us to make this change and as we all know now, the hurricane hit to NC was devastating. Our trip was perfect. We were able to hike and eat and shop in downtown Black Mountain. The region is still suffering and slowly coming back online. However, my recommendation is go to this beautiful part of the country and spend your money. The house was beautiful and perfect for 5 couples to have equal amenities. We can't say enough good things about this house and the area.

Stunning New Home with Great Mountain Views 5 STARS!

What a memorable and perfect time our family had. The only negative thing I can say is that we had to leave! Beautiful brand new home in a very peaceful and private setting, located in a gated preserve community with awesome hiking trails and waterfalls - nature at its best. The homeowners, Michael and Bernadette have thought of everything to make this the most stress free and easy vacation. Communication was great and you can tell they really care about their guests' well being. The kitchen was by far the best equipped kitchen and stocked cabin of any rental we have ever stayed at, right down to the spices, oils appliances, etc.... The house was incredibly clean and comfortable. It even smells brand new! Outdoor spaces were fabulous with comfy furniture to overlook the mountains both in the front and back of the property. Plenty of room with 6 en-suites and multiple outdoor places to escape or gather. Many fun nights were spent around the outdoor fire pit, game room, movie theater. We will be staying here again next year. Book this home without hesitation, you will not be disappointed!
