Beware! This hotel is not in central Bocas Town, even though that is where the Expedia map and the "View in a map" function shows the hotel to be. The hotel is actually on Isla Pastores, which is at least a 30 min boat ride from Bocas Town. The hotel is not at all convenient for the main Bocas del Toro attractions, such as snorkeling, surfing, Starfish beach, Red Frog beach, Zapatilla Islands, etc.
The hotel appears to be trying to lure customers into thinking that it is centrally located. However, the location information provided by the Expedia page, such as:
Bolivar Park - 2 min walk - 0.1 miles
Bocas del Toro Ferry Terminal - 6 min walk - 0.4 miles
Lil' Spa Shop by the Sea - 6 min walk - 0.4 miles
is NOT accurate.
In addition, we had a bad experience with the owners of the hotel. Our original hotel cancelled 45 mins before our flight to Bocas del Toro due to storm damage, so we were scrambling to find an alternative and made this reservation in a hurry. We contacted Central Hotel Bocas del Toro within 15 minutes of making the reservation to clarify the location. It took a long time to get Central Hotel to admit that the hotel was not in Bocas town as shown on the map, and then they refused to cancel and refund the booking, despite the fact that we'd been misled by the location information and they had not lost any business, because we had only held the reservation for 15 mins.
