The review I wish I'd have read... I wish I would have known some of these details before I booked. This property has beautiful old world charm, and in French tradition, is up five flights of marble stairs. Walking into the entryway, we noticed how unkempt it was, dead plants old chairs etc. in first entry. Going into apartment we noticed extreme 98 degrees temps b/c they forgot to turn on air which has one small unit upstairs in living room. The master bedroom is fine, but the furniture was falling apart. The master bathroom was nice accept for the old carpet which was really gross. The other bathroom has no light in shower and a black shower curtain which made bathing interesting. The hardest part for us with temps soaring in upper 90's was literally no air downstairs where we sleep, and only one workable fan. We understood there was only one small air unit, but assumed there would be fans that worked. We called and asked Christophe for another fan, and he delivered, and he also tried to help as much as possible. You take a winding open staircase upstairs, and the LR and kitchen were fine. The reason we rented this apart. was the views from balcony, which would have been beautiful but the plants were so overgrown and some dead, that we couldn't see the La Garonne except for a couple of feet. The glass table wasn't connected to the base and the other wood table literally fell apart on us. The balcony also was unkempt. While this apartment lacked what we had hoped for, our trip to Bordeaux was fabulous!
