Despite its location in a fantastic part of Boston, the Studio is very poorly maintained. The elevator interior is shabby and the cabin rattles to a disconcerting degree. This location claims to have laundry as an amenity, but the single washer per floor is always occupied with the cleaning staff’s bedding work (I understand the need to clean bedding, just don’t list an unusable washer as an amenity). Beds, while fresh due to the labors of the aforementioned staff, are rickety and need screws replaced and tightened (a serious problem given that they are bunkbeds). Interior finishes are crumbling and definitely growing some form of fungal culture in the corners. And the water, oh the water. Never before have I had a shower suddenly douse me with cold water during a brief hot rinse. I was warned somewhat by the precipitous drop in water temperature, but all this led to a very unproductive attempt at personal cleansing. The sink is likewise exhibiting some kind of ED, struggling to provide enough water to wash one’s hands. On a final and positive note; this is the first stay for me in which a toilet plunger has been provided. Its inclusion indicates a passing wisdom not reflected in the rest of the property.
