“This is our second stay at the Purple Porpoise and our family of 10 had a great vacation both times.Things we loved: Location, view, marsh, house design and outside spaces. Suggestions: Extra towels, fridge way too small for 10 people and ice maker was anemic and fridge took a long time to cool back down after loading it. A large salad bowl and some regular cookie sheets would be nice. Sharpen knives. One broken beach chair and a lounge chair by the pool needs replacing. None of these,...

“Right across the street from beach access. Property management company was very responses with the few issues we had (trash can already full, minor damages to interior). Overall very pleased with our stay!”

“Charming house, right on the beach. Excellent location, close to all that Oak Island has to offer…summer concerts in the park a short walk away, the pier, many restaurants, marsh walks/fishing. Groceries about a 3 minute drive. Highly recco making the short drive to Southport, great food and views. Overall great stay. Owner was very responsive. Highly recommend for a wonderful, laid back beach vacation. ”

“Very clean, updated, well equipped kitchen. Loved the kids bedroom for our 5 gkids. Had full bath with 2 bunk beds. Full size beds (2 kids ea) on ground and 2 twin beds above. We rented for a full week so we had the daily tent service which we all loved. It could shade 5-6 people at a time.”

“We had a great time in this cozy little house. It had everything we needed and a little more. Although most of the bikes had flat tires there were still two for the kids to ride on. I would also suggest bringing some of your own beach chairs because some of the ones in the building are old and might break if you sit in them like one did with me. But overall it was a great place great neighborhood easy walk to the beach and Great inlet view.”

“We stayed here for the 4th of July and we enjoyed this house so much that we secured it for next 4th of July before we left. Check in was easy. I had a few questions when we first arrived and response time was quick from the homeowner. We had 2 boats and 2 kayaks and they all fit. We just secured the boats beside one another without blocking the canal for other boaters. Location was perfect! Public beach access was almost right off this street.
