This was an amazing property! Our favorite times were spent in the rocking chairs on the porch looking out at the beautiful mountain view. The porch went all around the house and there were plenty of seating options. The house was extremely well stocked, more so than we've had in other VRBOs. We cooked all of our meals at the house. The kitchen was great and we used the grill a few times. Cozy living room with a fireplace. Spacious bedrooms. We didn't see any bears (fortunately), but we got to see some deer run through the property a few times. We had a fantastic time here.

A Wonderful Holiday

We enjoyed the week of Thanksgiving at this property. It was appreciated that the host had some firewood there to get us started. Additionally, there was a Christmas tree up to help us get into the holiday spirit. Best part of the experience were the host and their willingness to help out, provide guidance and quick responses to questions leading up to our visit.

Mountain Views

This was the perfect house for our stay with 6 adults and one child. We couldn’t have asked for better views or a better location for all we wanted to do and see. The owner went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Outstanding (March/April 2024)

First of all the owners were extremely accommodating and gave plenty of information about the area and things to do. The house was clean and well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location and the view were spectacular, pictures don’t do it justice. The view from the firepit was amazing and we spent many nights making smores and enjoying the view. The downstairs area was perfect for our teenage son. Overall, could not be more pleased with the location, accommodations, and the house in general. Perfect getaway for our family!

Best view in 18+ years of visiting the Smokey Mountains

Immaculate! Every detail accounted for and then some! Comfortable furnishings, lovely decor, better equipped with everything you could think of - then all of our years of staying the NC Mountains. The home was so comfortable and easy to relax in - we actually did fewer outings.. Nap by the fire, curl up with a book, pick from every game you can think of or just gaze at the view from a rocking chair on the porch(es)! We hope to have the opportunity to stay again! Sooner rather than later...

Outstanding Views!!!

Look no further!!! The property description is accurate, million $$ views!!! Greg & Karin are perfect hosts. The communication leaves no question unanswered. Their home is stocked with everything needed & the pay it forward system allowed us to relax on our 1st night. The checkout system is also easy. If you are looking unobstructed views, privacy to recharge but minutes to town, this is the place!! Better than pictures can show…..

Incredible Views and Relaxation/Chill Porch

Greg/Karin were amazing to work with. Always available. Easy check in/out process. The house was everything and MORE! Very comfortable. Great Kitchen with everything you would need. Saw deer in the backyard a few times. Very peaceful and tranquil once you arrived to the home. Will definitely stay again.

Amazing retreat with access to everything!

Believe all of the comments that say the photos do not do it justice! It would be impossible to be disappointed by the views. This home is perfectly secluded, yet close enough to enjoy all of our favorite places from Asheville to Maggie Valley to the Blue Ridge Parkway and more. It fit our 3-generation family very well, is welcoming and comfortable, and very clean and tidy. The home has absolutely everything you need and more - we took advantage of the generous amenities (more than fully stocked kitchenware, games/books, hammocks, corn hole, foosball, fire pit...) and love that they encourage a pay-it-forward approach on staples. Even better, the hosts are wonderful and have amazing communication! We're telling all our friends and we will be back!

Fantastic getaway!

This home was a fantastic base of operations for our family to enjoy Asheville, Pisgah National Forest, and the surrounding areas. Isolated and extremely private, but easy to take a ride into Asheville, go cruise the Blue Ridge Parkway, or take a hike in Pisgah... among nearly limitless other activities. Greg (and Karin) have been some of the best hosts we've run into. They were quick to reply when we had questions, provided a super helpful and detailed info packet regarding the house as well as surrounding areas, and had the house prepped, stocked with basics, and super clean for our arrival. Haven't worked with a better host. Heck, when I locked myself out of the house like a doofus Greg came to the rescue and didn't even make fun of me for it. :-) If it's any indication of how much we enjoyed the home and our time there, we're checking schedules to see if we can make it back again for our kids' fall break later in the year. My guess is the house will be as wonderful as this trip, Greg & Karin will remain the epitome of gracious hosts, and the scenery will be even more beautiful with fall colors. Thanks again for everything Greg (and Karin). Hope to be back again soon!

Great home with gorgeous views

Pictures cannot fully describe the views from this house. They are amazing. We had 9 in our party, 6 adults and 3 kids, and it was very comfortable. It's also secluded so we didn't have to worry about the kids screaming and playing bothering anyone else. Everything that you would need is in this home. We did a lot of cooking while we were there and the kitchen had every pan, plate, bowl or appliance that we could possibly need. On our last night there, New Year's Eve, we were able to watch the fireworks from the town of Canton, down below in the valley. We have never seen fireworks from above before so this was a great little surprise. The owners are great to work with and are awesome people. I would highly recommend this home and hope to be able to go back in the future. This home is by far, the best that we have ever stayed in for our annual family vacation!!

Great place and amazing views!

We had a wonderful stay here with my partner and I and my brother and his family and our mother for her 80th birthday. Everything was comfortable and clean, and the well-appointed kitchen was nice to cook in. I lived in Haywood County a couple of decades ago and it was really special to be able to look out over that familiar, beautiful landscape from the master bedroom and the living room. We really appreciated the privacy, the comfortable beds, the spaciousness and the extensive decking. We'll definitely return sometime!

Relaxation in the Clouds

We stayed at Greg & Karin's mountain retreat for a long weekend with my father and our son to relax and have time to spend together away from distractions (other than watching football). We took a leisurely route via the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is a great way to see the surrounding area along the way. The house and the views couldn't be better. The open concept inside allowed us to be together while we cooked or sat by the fire. And the rockers on the wrap-around deck were perfect for cocktail hour. While there are many things to do in the area, we stayed put and just decompressed for a few days. This house is definitely at the top of our VRBO experiences. And Greg and Karin have hosting down to a science! Great early communication, as well as timely check-in/check-out details that were helpful.

Absolute Perfection

We have just returned from a wonderful girls getaway at Greg and Karin's beautiful mountain home. There was nothing that we needed that we didn't find at this exceptionally well stocked home. The cabin is spacious, yet cozy. The downstairs space is ideal for families with teenagers or in-laws. There you will find a generous living area with TV and foosball table, a bedroom with plenty of beds, and the bathroom is very spacious. The porch had the most amazing mountain views for watching the sunrise, or star gazing at night. There are plenty of photo opps around the property as well. We loved the "Christmas" tree on the upper parking level. We wished we had one more day just to enjoy the cabin itself and all it has to offer. The drive up to the cabin is steep, but that's half the fun of a mountain vacation, isn't it :) You will most definitely enjoy this home for your next mountain vacation. 270 degree views of Blue Ridge Mountains from all around porches

This house offered the best views we have ever had with all around porches to enjoy them at any time of day or night. The house is the ultimate in comfort, spaciousness, quality, and cleanliness. The kitchen was stocked with almost as much as I have at home with all of the cookware, dishes and appliances you would need. The location was great for our trailered in motorcycle with easy trips to 6,000 foot overlooks on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Plenty of parking area for trailer and a garage for the bike. The owners were so helpful and attentive to every detail. Privacy and peacefulness made us not want to leave, even to visit the interesting stores and restaurants in Waynesville. We did make it to the Waynesville Farmers Market on Saturday to check out their local produce, crafts, and specialty foods. Asheville is not far away if you want to venture out. We look forward to staying again.

Spectacular Mountain Getaway!

This was one of the best houses we have rented in the past 20 years. The house is beautiful, comfortable, warm & welcoming. The views are awesome - look in any direction and you see mountains, valleys, more mountains, sunrises, sunsets. Great location to many area attractions and recreation activities. Everything in this house is well-thought out and comfortable. We have rented many homes through the country, and especially in NC, and many of them are furnished in a way that looks great but the furniture isn’t actually comfortable. The beds, sofas, chairs, even the island barstool seats were so comfortable we found ourselves sleeping in and hanging out at the house more than we usually do when we are on vacation. It was just two of us this time (my son and me), but we plan to return with more family members because there was more than enough space for a larger group. The owners were very proactive in communicating with us prior to our arrival, and checked in on us during the stay to make sure we had everything we needed. We did!! This house and Greg & Karin get five stars from us for sure!

A hidden gem on Cold Mountain Canton, NC

Perfection!!! The house was amazing, spacious, all the essentials you need. The downstairs was a delightful surprise with a whole other living space and games for children & adults. Our grandchildren loved having their own space to chill. The views are to die for and the hammocks on the beautiful wrap around porch we enjoyed so much. Loved watching the birds, butterfly’s and hummingbirds while enjoying the beautiful view on the porch. Location so close to the Blue Ridge Pkwy was also a bonus. We found so many great places to eat nearby and rented a Pontoon Boat on Lake Glenville in Cashiers NC for a day and did some tubing, so much fun for the whole family. The weather was great and the temps were perfect. We loved this house and plan to book again in the future for another awesome mountain vacation trip. Thank you for sharing your beautiful mountain home with us. We definitely felt at home each time we came back from an outing. Can’t wait to go again. PS, this was our favorite vacation house in NC by far and we have vacationed there a lot. Until the next time, Hal & Brenda from Florida

The view from Heaven!!!

The pictures don’t do this cabin and it’s views justice. It is absolutely breathtaking!! The cabin had plenty of outdoor seating for sitting on the porches. The “pay it forward” system was a blessing so we didn’t have to rush out to the store for coffee the second we got there! Greg was very attentive anytime I texted with questions about the area. This cabin was secluded and the hill was steep getting to it, but we were able to make it uphill in the rain with a front wheeled vehicle. The Downstairs area was perfect for our two teens…complete with 3 beds, bathroom, tv, and couches. The only time we saw them was when they wanted to eat and drink. I highly recommend this place if you are wanting some peace and breathtaking views. We were all extremely happy with our stay!!! We didn’t need for anything except perishable food and drinks. Thank you Greg!

"Almost Heaven"

What an amazing week for our three generation family vacation! The view from the top of Cold Mountain was absolutely Stunning! We loved sitting on the porch in our rocking chairs watching the clouds float across the valley below and surround the mountain ranges spread out in front of us! The house was spacious and comfortably accommodated our family and friends from NY, FL, GA and NC. The firepit provided a cozy environment for listening to music and sharing stories. Greg and Karin were welcoming and reachable by text whenever we had a question. The house was clean and well stocked with amenities. Looking forward to a return visit! Claudia, MC and company

Amazing place! Great condition. The pictures were spot on with the views and the accommodations.
