The accommodations were as described online, however upon arrival we noticed that it’s time for a refresh at the Yacht Club. The online photos make things appear fresh and new, but in reality, things are showing signs of age and wear. Old bathroom linens, stained patio cushions and carpet could stand to be replaced. There were lightbulbs burned out in bathrooms and exhaust fans that run so loudly, in others, that you don’t want to turn on the lights. The main floor bathrooms didn’t have cold running water. The refrigerator at 40 degrees still froze fresh food and the ice maker / water dispenser was erratic and difficult to use. Some of the patio furniture had busted seats or no cushions at all. The only way to use the patio lights was to run an extension cord through an open window. With indoor / outdoor living visitors should beware of spiders, palmetto bugs and biting fleas on the patio. There were very few items for us to do any light cleaning, a broom, but no mop.
All of these items may seem relatively small, in and of themselves, but we included them in the review because there were just so many issues. For the cost of the stay, we definitely expected better accommodations.
The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, flatware, cups, glassware and pots and pans. It was great to have 3 full bathrooms so no adults had to share their space. Nice heated pool and lanai with stunning palms and a beautiful canal view. The neighborhood was safe and walkable.
