I want to start this by saying I had a wonderful vacation with my family at Agnes. We loved the location, the pool, the views, the layout of the home and the neighborhood.
The house itself has great bones, but it was a little rough around the edges. When we arrived on Christmas day, there was only 1 roll of TP in each bathroom, and no extra trash bags. The linens and towels were very worn out and scratchy. The pillows were lumpy and there were very few in the home. There were no mattress covers below the sheets.
However, I reached out to management and they were compassionate. They immediately purchased new towels and linens, pillows and trash bags. They left them for us while we were out, along with a bottle of wine. The next day, the house manager came to check us in and showed us a few of the mechanics of the house. Most of the directions were in German and not ideally located. When I called the house manager towards the end of our 2 week stay because of a clogged sink, she yelled at me that she wanted us to check out an hour earlier than in the contract and hung up.
Before we arrived, management sent me many emails about improving my stay by renting kayaks. Since the house was on the water, I loved the idea. They were kind enough to leave the kayaks in the garage, however since the house does not have a floating dock, it was impossible to use the kayaks as they were too heavy to be dropped down/retrieved 4-5 feet from the dock to the water. When I asked management how to handle this, they told me to wait until high tide. Even at high tide, it wasn't feasible to use the kayaks that I paid $400 to rent.
We had a few other challenges too. The main TV is old and didn't have an HDMI cable or access to the internet so we were unable to use Netflix or any streaming sites. There were lightbulbs out in the master bathroom. We had ants all over the kitchen. The screen around the pool was ripped and missing 2 panels. The grill barely worked and they told us they were going to replace it after our stay. A handyman came and worked on the screen, brought a tank for the grill and replaced the bulbs. I understand that homes require maintenance so I'm glad the handyman came by to help.
Overall, I would not stay at this property again, however I had a lovely vacation despite these challenges.
