Beautiful house with wonderful view of the lake from spacious sun room area. Even though it was winter the kids were able to enjoy the tennis and basketball courts. Dog enjoyed a nice walk around the lake and along the woods. Very happy with the stay.

We stayed at the Gibson House for a girl's golf trip for three nights. The house and the grounds were fabulous. Every detail was first class and well thought out. We especially enjoyed the sunroom in the evening playing cards and visiting. We will do a return visit for sure

Amazing stay!

This property was so beautiful, inside and out! The house had plenty of bathrooms and areas to hang out. Lots of amenities and very clean. The property manager, Betsy, was so kind and very responsive! Would definitely come back!

Beautiful home and setting

The property was incredible! We were on a girl’s trip and could not have picked a more perfect house! We had our morning coffee on the back deck overlooking the beautiful lake. It was close to wineries and restaurants. Amazing! We’re already planning a return trip!

Group trip

We were a group of 8 looking for a quiet week of relaxing. This house was beautiful! Very clean, lots of room. We rented a golf cart to drive around the property. Very nice pool, we had all to ourselves. Paddle boats, a golf course within a couple of miles. It was very quiet even being just about 1/2 miles off the highway. We were very pleased with our stay and I would highly recommend it.

Farrar House

The Farrar House with Pine Manor is a very classy place to stay. Betsy is a fantastic host. Communication was exceptional and they went above and beyond giving us everything we needed and more.The pool and other amenities are great as well.

Multigenerational stay

We had a wonderful stay. Only thing to note for planning purposes is that the bathroom connected to the only bedroom on the main floor requires steps up and down from the shower. My mom is highly mobile (uses a cane and handrails) so she could stay downstairs with a direct walk in shower. There are 3 full (tub and shower) plus two 1/2 baths. The outdoor spaces were beautifully designed and furnished. The house is tucked into a corner with the lake behind. You will forget its in a neighboorhood. Fresh coffee every morning in the sunroom or on the porch was lovely. If I had known I'd stay an extra day and not leave the house. Bring groceries and staycation in this lovely home. (Wineries are close and evening performances at the fantastic SIU McCloud theatre.)

Wonderful weekend in Carbondale

This was our second stay at the property and it is delightful! The home is stocked with anything you need, the location is great and the house is quite comfortable! We will make this our “go to” spot when visiting our college son!

SOIL Getaway

Took the family to southern Illinois for a quick getaway. The property was great. Really loved the pool and hot tub! The view from the back of the house of the lake was great! The kids and myself enjoyed the paddle boats! The entertaining area was quite large. Would be great for weddings, family reunions, etc.

Family Visit

The house was beautiful and very clean and had everything we needed and more. I came from Wisconsin with my family and my niece came from England to visit our family, who all live near Carbondale and surrounding areas. The thing we all liked about the house the most was the outdoor seating. There were so many places to sit outside with plenty of room for everyone.

6 adults enjoyed this beautifully kept home. We enjoyed the cleanliness, space, and location to amenities of this space. We enjoyed the pond, pool, hot tub on site. We also enjoyed the local co-op grocery, farmers market, brewery and winery.

Another relaxing visit

Spacious house that's very comfortable for small and large families. Beautiful view onto a large pond with fountains. Pleasant walks allow some wildlife viewing around the pond. Nice pool, paddleboats and sports equipment available to keep everyone busy. Beautiful sunroom and patios perfect for relaxing and visiting with each other.
