The location of the house was great, just a short walk to the beach. Inside, the home was clean, which we appreciated. However, communication and attention to details were lacking. We didn’t receive check-in instructions until we requested it, the day of arrival. Most VRBOs send this information the day before. The listing said the house was set up for 9 people, but the bunk room had no sheets or pillowcases. Since the listing mentioned bedding was provided, we were surprised. After back-and-forth messages explaining our sleeping arrangements, the host brought sheets and made the beds. We were only provided 6–7 shower towels (can't remember exact amount), which wasn’t enough for our 9 guests. Fortunately, some of us had brought our own towels, but this is a detail that could have been handled in advance. We were told in our welcome letter that the trash bins were excessively full, but would be emptied during our stay by staff. This never happened and the trash attracted many flies, which constantly entered the house. With no welcome book or trash day info, my dad put the bins out after seeing neighbors do so.The host sent a check-in message asking how things were on our 2nd day, we responded with concerns but never got a reply. We were told in this email that checkout instructions would come the day before departure, but they never arrived, so we followed general rental etiquette.
