cute little jewel box
The operative word in the title is ‘little.’ This place is teeny tiny! The decor is cute and fixtures are nice. The couch, fortunately, sat the three of us though it was shoulder to shoulder, and not really comfortable. It is also pretty low to the ground so that wasn’t good. I describe the couch in detail because it was literally the only seating in the place, other than one small cane/wicker chair with no cushion. Regarding the bedroom immediately off the kitchen: it is so small that you have to turn sideways to get to its bathroom. The space between the foot of the bed and the closet door is approximately 10-12 inches, so get ready to crab-walk. Additionally the wall(s) between the two units are so thin that we heard conversations being conducted in normal tones! Much less the shrieking groups of girls who checked in on our second day - from 4:30p until 4:30a there was no pause and it was absolute misery.Regarding parking (and a lesson I learned this time): just because there’s a spot included doesn’t mean it’s not a full block away. There’s not even a decent opportunity to unload, as we were accosted by another tenant at 149 as we simply tried to TURN AROUND IN THE DRIVEWAY.Bottom line: we’re done w/Charleston, glad to have visited but won’t return. If tiny and cute accommodations, along with responsive hosts, makes your trip great then this is your place. If you need comfort, a little space, and proximity to what’s going on, it is probably not.
