This was one of the few places available at the dates we gave, for the number of people we took. For that I'm grateful. We had fun in town and made memories together.
However, the pictures are misleading as to space, and more importantly, view. Unless you bring binoculars, there is NO VIEW of the canal from this particular unit. Others in the complex maybe, but this one is positioned behind the other buildings which DO face the water. So at best, you see people grilling their hot dogs in the courtyard. Your best bet for a water view is the residence fishing pier behind the pool, or the public one two blocks over. We saw a spreading of the ashes at the public one, that was pretty cool. But the balcony does not have a good water view. At all. I felt extremely misled when I arrived, but as I mentioned, options were few.
The living/kitchen area floor was filthy, our bare feet often looked like we walked through soot, it was as if the floor hadn't been mopped in weeks. The kitchen was SUPER spacious though, and well stocked with utensils. It made prepping for dinner and storing snacks/drinks very easy.
A tight spiral staircase leads to all sleeping areas except for the pull-out. I would not recommend this unit for heavyset guests, or over age 60, just because of the difficult navigation. I'd also suggest a higher lip in the downstairs shower, or at least a longer curtain.
As a whole, good communication, we were safe, we slept, but no view. Far from our best stay in Port A.
