Z House | perfect cottage for winter escapes.

  • La sala de estar de la casa Z se abre a una cubierta con un área de comedor adicional. Hay una cubierta abierta frente a las dunas, así como una cubierta de nido de cuervos con hermosas vistas del Golfo, el lugar perfecto para ver las puestas de sol de la isla Dauphin. La casa cuenta con Wi-Fi, TV por cable, reproductor de DVD en la sala de estar, lavadora y secadora grandes, microondas y horno tostador. Grandes televisores de pantalla plana en sal������n y dormitorio principal. El dormitorio principal se abre a la cubierta y tiene un amplio vestidor. Hermosos paneles de cedro natural, interiores y pisos cerámicos. Amplio estacionamiento y patio de BBQ bajo casa y sala para bote. La cabaña está ubicada a solo una cuadra del sendero para bicicletas en toda la isla, también cerca de la playa pública, y se encuentra en una excelente área para la observación de aves. Fácil de caminar al campo de golf, tiendas de regalos y restaurantes.

Z House on the Dunes

We loved staying here. The location of the house was perfectly set away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to get to it when we wanted. Quiet neighborhood.

Cute little Gem

If you are looking for a relaxing getaway this is the house! It had everything we needed and only a short walk to the public beach. Very easy check in and check out. Dauphin Island Realty was great and so easy to work with.

The property was accurately represented in the listing. As other reviewers have noted, the home is somewhat dated but comfortable and well-suited for a relaxing stay. The stairs felt a bit wobbly, but we never felt unsafe using them.When we arrived, the carport lights were not working. However, the host was very responsive and had the issue repaired the following day.One feature that may not be obvious is the easy beach access nearby. About a block away, at the end of the street, there is a path that leads up through the sand dunes and opens onto a beautiful beach. We found this access point more convenient than trying to reach the beach from behind the property.

Peaceful location

Beautiful house, beautiful location. The peacefulness being away from the tourist attractions was amazing. Walking to the beach or driving from the house was easy and gave us a lot of time to relax. The house was stocked with all kitchen utensils and sitting on the screened in porch for meals was a great option. I would recommend this home!

Welcome to the jungle

Clean and well stocked. Mosquitos are intense. Driveway was slightly overgrown, especially for a larger vehicle. Close to everything being fairly center. Enjoyed our week on the island!

Gowin family

We loved Dauphin Island and the Z home. The only criticism I have is that the photos give the impression you can see the ocean. However the dunes have been built up and there is a large tree now....so you can only see a small sliver of the ocean. Otherwise the bedding was very comfortable and the location was very convenient. We look foward to staying again!

Dauphin Islanders first time visit.

We loved the island laid back atmosphere, no commercialized stores (now know to grocery shop before crossing the bridge 😉). The house was adequate for our needs, very disappointed in the lack of views due to the overgrown tress and lack of beach access. Be sure and get a permit to gain beach access from propert management or could be costly ocean visits daily. Overall we plan to come back to the island but will be more thorough in our planning. ZHouse is a functional and inexpensive place to stay, neighborhood is nice and neighbors friendly.

NOT SAFE!The house itself is nice, but the wooden porches and stairs/railings are in a terrible state. They are rotting away. You can't even use the railings without getting numerous splinters (I pulled 4 of these out of my children on day #1). We wouldn't even let our kids play on the decks out of fear the railings would rail and they could fall right over the edge. In fact at one point while walking down the stairs a 2inch section of wood from of the stairs just broke off under my foot. Check-in was very quick and easy. While the house was near the beach as described, even technically within walking distance, however you are not allowed to walk across the Sand Dunes which stand between you and the beach. Therefore you cannot walk to the beach at all. There is also no view of the beach from the house, only of the dunes. You cannot even see the sunset except behind the trees.

Unstable house

stairs and house both sway anytime someone walks on them. There were giant ants that would come out in the evening and be dead in the house in the morning, would have to clean them every morning. You can't walk to the beach from the back yard, $500 fine if you walk on the dunes. House was hot during day and cold at night. Rental company give you dishwasher pods and demands you run dishwasher, there is no dishwasher. Grass needs to be cut badly.

Tree House

Very nice for the four of us! We were comfortable and cool in this extreme weather. Some of the furnishes could use some updating, especially the sofa. We will rent again if available for sure!

Wonderful

Very enjoyable stay. quiet location behind the dunes, found a path to the beach and tidal pools, close to the public beach, and of course, the island is small and with a good system of paths, so easy access to everywhere by bicycle. Will return soon!

Perfect Spot

The Z-House was great! It was the perfect size for out little family to come and have a visit to the beach! We were stocked with everything that we needed! We really didn't spend much time in the house because we were so busy having fun at the beach. We loved having an outdoor shower so that we could clean off the sand before we got inside!

Great vacation

Felt like home . Very comfortable home , clean, nicely decorated ,and very good location to alot of attractions beach, restaurants , shops, marina, just about everything. we enjoyed our stay very much. would chose it again without hesitation.

A unique experience staying in a fairly large property on the Alabama Gulf Coast. Walking distance to beautiful dunes and beaches.

Relaxing stay

The property was exactly as listed. Located on a quiet street surrounded by trees and close to the bike trail. Walking distance to a few restaurants and gift shops. Can't really see the Gulf with the overgrowth of trees but the public beach was a short drive from the house. Overall it was a good experience.

The Woodland House

Great place to cozy up in the dunes and woods! Be prepared for the place to be a little rickety and there is no dishwasher as stated online. Location is close to everything that the island has to offer and the view is beautiful! Probably manager was very quick to get our WiFi up and running. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely stay there again! I loved the atmosphere of the place-very cozy!
