“A convenient cliff top location, with everywhere we wanted to visit during our 2 day stay within walking distance. The sea view double room was to say the least, compact, with no chair, let alone a desk, but plenty of well placed power sockets & a satisfactory shower room. We took laptops down to the residents' lounge to work, which was fine. Everything else good, especially breakfast, EXCEPT, unfortunately, the mattress was far too soft. “The decor of the hotel was dated and didn't reflect the details we saw when booking. The staff were pleasant when we saw someone. The location was good and easy to find our way around. Scratch card were available for parking for a reasonable cost.”

“Great stay at St Hildas. Fantastic friendly staff. Stayed in 'Venice ' themed room which was lovely and had great double bath. Loads of choice for continental breakfast. Short walk to join Cleveland way and can head to Staithes or Runswick Bay in 30-40 mins”

“We stayed for 2 nights and had an amazing stay, the room was so clean and well maintained with everything we needed. The instructions were also very clear regarding check in/out and parking. We would definitely recommend and would choose argyle house when back in Whitby. Thank you for a lovely stay!”

“We had no running hot water other than the electric shower. No wardrobe just hangers on hooks. TV was the size of an iPad. Bottom bed sheet too small and forever coming off. Needs to be clearer when it states breakfast included but it is only cereal. Outside seating area not suitable as soiled with seagulls droppings”

“Such a welcoming property. Smelt clean and welcoming. Beautifully decorated and furnished. Very comfortable bed. We had room 2 which had a bay window plus a lovely side window with view of the sea. Light and airy room with large bathroom. Parking permit provided for street parking. Can't recommend highly enough. Thank you Dave and Emma. You have a beautiful well cared for establishment.”
