“What a surprise we found at the Athenaeum, a grand hotel from the 19th century, on beautiful Lake Chatauqua. On arrival, we found ourselves entering a gated community spread along the lake shore, with wonderful 19th and 20th century summer homes, within walking distance of the hotel. The entry to the hotel opens into a large traditional open lobby where the front desk sits opposite a wide staircase to the second and third floors, alongside a comfortable bar area where one can order food and...

“This is a historic property. It was quaint, quiet, and clean. We were made to feel very welcome. It was so fun to walk around and see all the homes and amenities in the Chautauqua Institute.”

“Great house and amenities! Stayed for New Years and loved it. House has everything we needed and location was perfect.One little thing: I wish there was a TV on a main level somewhere. Otherwise, it was a great pleasant stay. Definitely recommend! We had 4 adults and bunch of kids and nobody was bored and plenty of room.”

“Pet friendly. Plenty of outdoor space to walk him. Absolutely loved the outdoor fire pit with Adirondack chairs and split wood. Perfect for us. Close to the beach, dining, light house, wineries and sight seeing. We were here in the fall and will definitely come back in the summer.”

“We loved our stay! Awesome location for seeing everything the area has to offer. We had a small issue getting in the cabin but it was handled as quickly as possible. Cabin was spotless and the views are wonderful. Will stay again if in the area for sure.”
