I have stayed at many VRBOs, and I get very frustrated when I have to log in to other aps or look for text messages. This one was very confusing, with texts, emails and other aps needed. It was very unclear where we needed to go, and the front desk staff was very unhelpful. While technically the listing was accurate, saying there are 3 bedrooms is a stretch. The bedroom downstairs had a King bed, but that was also where the very small pullout bed is. This room had a barn door with no locking mechanism, but did have AC. Two of the kids slept there. My husband and I stayed upstairs because it was the only room with a bit of privacy, but did not have a locking door, only a small bifold door. It was so hot upstairs and lugging water upstairs to fill the swamp cooler was not fun. The other "room" was a loft with no privacy and also very hot.The kitchen was fine and had some necessities, but we didn't spend much time there. I think this space would be fine if you go in the winter, but no ideal for an August stay. Also not a lot of privacy if traveling with couples.

Great getaway condo

Overall, the place is great. Beautiful views, comfortable beds. Mgmt needs to get some repairs done...in the kitchen and master bedroom, only one plug in each socket worked. The toaster needs to be replaced. EEverything

Great location and well stocked condo

We loved staying here. The upstairs bedrooms were perfect for the kids. The furniture and beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Always love staying at this resort.

Stay near purgatory

Great condo, close to purgatory. Cool design elements of property. Loved the access to indoor/outdoor pools. Easy check in/check out process. Only downside was that noise carries a little bit throughout condo. Overall a great stay! Would book it again!

3-day stay

Second shower needs a mat, very slippery; sliding door to shower was off its track—I fixed it but it wasn’t easy. AC doesn’t really reach the upstairs; master bed is nice but too close to the wall for access. No clue how to work the main TV with 3-4 remotes. The check in lady at the desk was very rude upon arrival—ridiculously so. Check out lady was very nice.

Couldn't check in

We arrived at the property at 10:30 pm to find no reservation existed in our name. Since the people at the front desk work for Tamarron, not Durango Colorado Vacations, showing them our reservation didn't help. DCV's site said someone would check voice/email once or twice a night so when I couldn't get through to anyone, and after I left a voicemail and email for them, I started looking for somewhere else to spend the night. They did contact the property after 30 minutes or so, but they never reached out to us to straighten things out or to apologize for the inconvenience and stress of not knowing whether we would be able to get into the rental or not. No contact. We were surprised and disappointed at the low level of customer care since this mistake was 100% on their end. The rental itself is in a nice location, lovely views, nice mattresses. But the shower heads are terrible and have been poorly rigged into place and the rugs, especially in the main bedroom, were quite dirty. We would not rent from them again.

User unfriendly and overpriced.

Pros: beautiful view, good location. Cons: everything functional was frustrating/difficult; WAY overpriced. - Kitchen has "cocktail sized" sinks so larger pots are really difficult to wash. Makes cooking much less enjoyable. Also poorly stocked, lacking basics like olive oil. - Showers are laughable in how difficult they are to operate. One shower has a knob which is so difficult (and painful on the hand) to twist that we had to use a towel to twist it on. Our kids needed help turn it on/off. The other shower head is jimmy-rigged, hung via a strip of metal which points the head toward the shower curtain and is not adjustable. So when you shower you are jammed up against the shower curtain - took the pleasure out of showers. - Stairs are dangerous, with easy access to a full-flight fall off the side; can't be up to code. Our 7 year old vocalized that danger unprompted. - The silverware drawer in the kitchen is hidden. Took us frustrating minutes to find it while our first dinner was getting cold. - Living room couch is so cheap/uncomfortable - the middle will hurt you when you sit down. - Check-in required signing a separate contract from VRBO, which we didn't realize until we were driving up with poor cell reception. - Everything electric was unplugged when we arrived. Having to move furniture to plug in dozens of lamps and appliances was a really annoying way to start our trip. - Listing said there was a shuttle to ski area. Turns out that's not true any longer.

A beautiful location with amazing views

This condo was stocked amazingly and had everything we needed. The beds were extremely comfortable and the amenities on site were fantastic. We will definitely consider staying here again in the future!!

This property needs work to be comfortable in the summer. There are two window units for the two level, open concept townhome. One unit is in a bedroom on the bottom level and is adequate (also a huge ceiling fan in this bedroom). The other unit is suppose to keep the rest of the townhome cool (living, dining, kitchen, hallway, two baths and two upstairs bedrooms) with the help of a ceiling fan in the living room. The two upstairs bedrooms have fans (a box fan, a small wall fan and an upright fan that's suppose to produce cool air....also were told to open the windows on a vaulted wall). We could never get the upstairs cool to a comfortable temp at any point in the four days. We had two other family members arriving on the 10th so we decided to rent another townhome that was available for them to stay in (because of the upstairs temp)...one of us slept on a very uncomfortable sofa in the living room and two children in the downstairs bedroom. We used the refrigerator but not the stove or dishwasher (the dishwasher had been worked on that morning, we were told, and the manager said it didn't leak but probably needed replacing). Overall, things are worn....doorways in the bath where the varnish has peeled off, spots on the floor rugs, bedding/blankets that don't look that clean, etc. Maybe if you stayed in the spring/fall you could manage the temp better but I still wouldn't want to reserve this townhome again. The other townhome that we added, for family we had planned to stay with us, was in much better shape and can recommend it. Another point about the townhome I don't recommend, is it lists that it sleeps 9....this would really be pushing the limits of it. However, the pool, hot tub and restaurant by golf course were all very nice and enjoyable!

We were really unhappy with the amenities inside the condo. Toilet paper, soap, And Kleenex we’re all terrible. For paying short or 2k and getting literally the worst toilet paper ever, watered down soap that did not even bubble in our hands- and during Covid it was incredibly disappointing. The TV also did not work, we called maintenance- took about an hour and by then we were already using a lap top. (During football season this was a HUGE let down) Last but not least- the stairs, oh my god the stairs. Please please please put in your description that you need shoes to walk up and down the stairs. Waking up and coming down those your feet will be incredibly sore. Invest in a small foam matt for each stair; please! Last but not least- some of our family Could not make it, so we were a few family members short (sadly thank goodness) because it was incredibly smaller than we all expected. The “pull” out couch wasn’t only uncomfortable but about 1/2 the size as a normal- it was a glorified futon, the bedroom upstairs was a closet with a patrician, we, as a family stay often in VRBO’s we’re just so incredibly let down. Thank goodness we were here for a wedding and in the room limited time. This was not worth the $. Hopefully the next guest have a better stay- the view however was stunning. Kindly, Antes family

Better than expected

Usually we like to stay in a house/cabin with some space for our kids to play and quiet privacy for the adults but nothing like that was available in the area. Despite being on the fifth floor of a lodge this was very quiet and private anyway. Very well stocked kitchen and perfectly clean. Great views from large windows. High ceilings helped it feel light and airy. Very annoying that we had to pay for lodge amenities which included freezing cold pools and a playground for kids under 4 when mine are both older. Not the fault of the condo owners though. Recommend!

Not a good fit for us.

First, let me say that it is a nice unit with a great view and nice amenities, depending on what you are looking for. There is quite a bit of space, it is close to the mountain and the beds are comfortable. We use VRBO primarily so we have a private space, especially with COVID. I didn't realize this condo was part of a large complex/motel style space. You have to go through lots of common areas to get to the unit as well as lugging ski gear and luggage up an elevator each day. Because it is in a large complex, it can be rather noisy. The walls are very thin so every time someone was running down the hallway or talking out side our unit, we could hear everything...thankfully this is on the top floor so we didn't have the same problem above us. As for the amenities, this is super frustrating to pay such a large resort fee for things we didn't want to use. On top of this, since there is COVID the procedure is to make a reservation to use anything. This is extremely inconvenient and makes it even less likely we would even be able to "schedule" it in. As far as other fees go, the cleaning fee seems pretty high considering at check out you are supposed to put the linens in the washing machine, clean all dishes/kitchen and empty the trash. There are a few items that could be improved...the water pressure is very low and there is only one true shower, the other is a large tub with handheld shower. There is only Direct TV which wasn't working and a bluray player so unless you bring movies you might be out of luck. Just a suggestion is that it would be helpful to have a roku or smart tv so you can log on to your personal digital streaming accounts. Overall...nice, but not great, and definitely not a good fit for us.

Great accommodations and beautiful setting!

We won't stay anywhere else in Durango. Love staying at Tamarron and especially in this condo. It's the perfect place for a couple and a family. Everything you could need or want. We'll be back!
