Subject: Formal Complaint – Severe Ladybug Infestation During Stay (Simple Life Hospitality)
Dear Expedia/VRBO Customer Service
I am writing to formally submit a complaint regarding a property I reserved through Expedia/VRBO for our Memorial Day weekend stay (May 24–26, 2025).
Upon arrival, one of the bedrooms—intended for our three children—was found to be heavily infested with over 150 ladybugs. They were on the walls, ceilings, beds, towels, and even in the bathroom. It was impossible for our children to sleep in the room due to the overwhelming presence of insects.
We spent the evening removing ladybugs and trying to calm our children, which completely disrupted our vacation. I’ve attached a photo as evidence. This is far beyond what can be considered a seasonal issue, and the condition of the room was not acceptable for any guest.
Additionally, this raises serious concerns about whether the room was properly cleaned before our arrival. If cleaning had been done on the day of check-in, it would have been impossible to miss such a heavy infestation. This only adds to our disappointment and frustration.
I already contacted the property manager, Simple Life Hospitality, but I have not received a satisfactory resolution or offer of compensation. Given the impact this had on our stay, I am requesting a partial refund or other appropriate compensation.
