"From check in to check out, I have had the most amazing experience. The staff were kind, helpful and very polite. The rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious. Having the breakfast included in the stay was not only conveniente but also very much enjoyed. Wonderful traditional Japanese options as well as western style options did not dissapoint. The shuttle service running every hour to Kyoto station with pickup was also a plus! The neighborhood is right in the centre of well known shrines, landmarks and the famous Gion District. I would recommend this hotel for anyone to stay. 5 stars all the way! Hotel Higashiyama made my stay as a solo travelor not only comfortable but memorable. Thank you!"

"Not only they never did housekeeping during my 5 day stay, they disguise it as green efforts, i left my room at 12:45 and 10 mins after i left in my taxi they charged an additional night without saying anything, would not recommend, very old hotel, food sucks and alot of dust everywhere"
