“From the time we tried to check-in the woman that greeted us was aggressive and told us to wait in the waiting lounge. Then we could check-in Declan told us that we needed to pay for our accommodation but when I told that I had paid he took our documents and did not return them. We had a two stay and consequently left without documents. On contacting the hotel we were told the only wat to retrieve our was to send a self-envelope and they would send them to us. That wasn't suitable in the frame...

“A lovely, clean and modern house, with everything we needed for our short stay. A 7 minute cab ride to the centre of York. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom were spotlessly clean.Just a heads up - the bathroom is downstairs, which we didn't notice on the listing, so our fault not the host's, but just to mention in case anyone is concerned about having to go downstairs in the night for the loo!Would happily stay again.”

“We had great time. Great location.Would recommend this place to others.”

“Great location close to walking area, market, tourist sights, shopping, buses. Short walk from train. Not easy to find but video from host helped for navigating getting into apartment. Some stairs even after lift to 2nd floor but only about 12.Apartment itself was in beat up condition. Beds comfortable. Bathrooms good. Clean. Host communicated well and fast. Few utensils in kitchen and what was there was very worn. Latch on one window broken so could not secure, heater not secure, looking like...

“The owner responded quickly and was very helpful when we got lost because the streets in the area were closed. The location was perfect and close to everything we wanted to see. We also loved the view from the balcony.”

“We were a group of three families (plus a dog) and the house and gardens were phenomenal. The kitchen and the secret garden were our main areas for convening. All facilities were great, and as an avid cook, the kitchen set up and equipment was top notch. ”

“Really enjoyed our stay here- close to the rail station, and all the attractions, but extremely quiet and restful. View of the river was beautiful. Easy check in/check out and excellent communication with the host. Would be happy to stay here again. ”

“The owner was extremely helpful and responsive and the location was perfect. The walled garden was perfect for family to gather on warm days. However, although it’s advertised as sleeping 16, it doesn’t have the living space for 16, either to eat or gather. Other staff at the property were very accommodating and we loved the sustainable aspect of everything in the house. ”
