Within 6 hours of our stay, the carbon monoxide detector went off(fortunately they had one). When contacting Home Vacation Rentals, they said we'll get with "our team" and get back to you. In the meantime, we contacted the Fletcher, NC Fire Department who arrived on site in 5 minutes. The carbon monoxide levels were dangerously high and they ultimately turned off the gas. They suspected it was the hot water heater but couldn't access because Vrbo was slow to respond. Our thought is that this was a newly renovated property that was not inspected. It was not as nice as the pictures indicated and the experience overall was in fact terrible. While the fees are being refunded, no additional efforts were made to compensate us for the danger we were exposed to. Carbon monoxide poisoning is lethal. Do not choose this property or Home Vacation Rentals
