“We enjoyed a wonderful stay in the 'Nauti' Shepherd's hut. It was so cosy, warm, clean and immaculately presented. The bed was super comfortable and everything we could have needed was provided. A great location, with a peaceful and relaxing countryside setting. Great communication from the hosts. We will definitely be back in the future. Highly recommended for a cornish get away. ”

“I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to think carefully before booking. Our original room was unacceptable. There was a strong smell of damp that triggered my asthma. There appeared to be faeces on a towel and the carpet, the bedding was dirty, pillowcases stained, mould was present, and the bathroom tiles appeared to have bodily fluids on them. The room clearly had not been properly cleaned. To be fair, a member of staff apologised and moved us to another room. However, while...

“The property was terrific. The redesign of the Jail into a luxurious hotel was fabulous. The service of dinner in the bar area was very good. The only complaint I have was that the young women at the front desk on our arrival took pride in being unhelpful. When we asked her where the entrance of the walking trail was she told us that she did not have a clue because she never walks and had never heard of a walking. “We arrived at the hotel late and upon arrival had a sign saying under renovations. No pool/spa/gym/food. Room was ok. However interconnecting door unlocked which puzzled the staff as to why we would want to lock it. 2nd night bar then closed and had to request more milk pots as no laundry service/restock had taken place. Overall disappointed with the stay and feel it should be closed during renovations. The resort could be amazing but needs a lot of repairs. For what was a basic room...

“Just not very good, reasonable price but not really budget or bargain, Great location next to the train, Great Western beach and Pub, Just not a very good hotel. The single room is tiny with a tiny bed and looks more like a student doss house. No air con, fan doesn't work, no lift to the 3rd floor. Staff often not available at all, has a chintzy looking restaurant in the front but no idea what or if they serve, so many better places to eat, or stay for that matter. Tired.”
