So sorry you had an unpleasant experience. We take every review seriously and use it to improve our service to guests. Apparently, we failed in not communicating adequately with you. We encourage our guests to advise us if there is any problem or something we can do better. After you checked out we found that the garbage disposal was not working properly and we immediately replaced it. I can only think this may have been the problem if you smelled dampness. As for the water in pots, it is possible that the cleaning staff had cleaned them just prior to your arrival and put them away without drying them properly. We have a strict Covid cleaning regimen where a portable UV light is placed in the apartment when a guest checks out for an hour before the cleaning staff go in to clean an apartment. The cleaning staff is instructed to enter an apartment only when absolutely necessary when a guest is in residence. The guest agrees on check-in to place all soiled towels in plastic bags and place outside the apartment along with the trash bag in the morning. The cleaning staff will exchange the soiled towels with fresh ones and leave them in a plastic bag hung on the outside of the apartment. It is unfortunate you did not advise us of any issues while you were here so that we could have corrected them immediately. Since our cleaning staff is not allowed to enter the apartment daily, they were unaware of any smell. Perhaps in your future travels you will consider advising your hosts when there is an issue. A review is helpful to a property but a personal conversation with your hosts would go further in you having a comfortable stay. It seems that your initial negative reactions prevented you from enjoying our wonderful gardens, pool, and waterfront terrace where you could relax and watch the passing yachts. Tenemos un estricto régimen de limpieza Covid en el que se coloca una luz ultravioleta portátil en el apartamento cuando un huésped se retira durante una hora antes de que el personal de limpieza vaya a limpiar un apartamento. Se indica al personal de limpieza que ingrese a un apartamento solo cuando sea absolutamente necesario cuando haya un huésped en la residencia. Thank you so much for your feedback although I do take issue with your description of the apartment. You chose the least expensive accommodation and did not make your displeasure know until the next evening. The apartment you chose is in the Villas just across the street from the main building where you have access to our pool and waterfront deck along with Club Nibbles where we offer wine, cappuccino and small plates to our guests and the public. Admittedly it is small but it does have a fully equipped separate kitchen and outdoor dining area in the garden. Where some see a mobile home others see a charming pied-à-terre perfect for two people. I am happy we were able to satisfy you in the end.

Thank you for your review of Manhattan Tower. I am sorry for my mistake in first showing you the apartment that was more expensive than the one you had chosen. Of course, you were disappointed when I showed you the one you had reserved. Unfortunately, you did not arrive until almost 8:00 PM and left early the next morning for your cruise so you did not have a chance to enjoy sitting in your private little garden and our common amenities such as the heated pool and lounging on the waterfront deck watching the parade of boats. We hope you will give us another chance. We are always sensitive to guests' reviews especially when they do not recognize the charm and unique character of our property.

We are a small intimate property and honestly don't have many children visit; not because we don't want or like them, but it seems we appeal more to an older guest looking for tranquility away from the beach which is just 10 minutes from our property. We took your concern about the balconies seriously and installed a child netting that is transparent enough to not block the view but strong enough to prevent small children from slipping through the rails. Our building is a Mid Century Modern structure built by a well-known architect, Charles McKirahan in 1952 and we have been reticent to make changes that would compromise the original design. Our solution seems to satisfy both the need for safety and the desire to protect the original design. WE look forward to your next visit. Thank you.
