Many good things: the host was flexible about early check-in, the location was convenient, house generally clean, and bathrooms had ample towels. The host left us firewood and had matches and the fire pit was great!But also some frustrating things. There was only one dishwasher pod (for a family for a week) despite multiple reminders from the host to make sure we washed all the dishes. Many of the dishes in the cabinets had food caked on them, so I suspect the guests before us didn't have enough pods either. There were multiple small maintenance issues that we as guests kept having to manage. Pool was completely filled with unsightly debris and branches (there had been a storm before we arrived, and the cleaner wouldn't come for several days). All of the board games were broken/missing pieces, and the arcade game was so complicated to get working we just gave up. The beds only had sheet-thin coverlets, no blankets, and we were cold. Guests should also be aware that the pool is unheated. It was ice cold when we were there in March, and we ended up going to a heated public pool instead. Luckily there is one nearby and not very expensive, but it's not the same as a private oasis of course. It is especially icy on the day it is cleaned (Friday) so plan around that.
