Wonderful condo for family!

We just loved this unit. Beautiful renovations, wonderful patio and view of the pool. Beds were comfortable in bedrooms and grounds were lovely for the kids to enjoy the pool.

Great week in Galveston

We were here for 4 nights so that our 7 year old could attend a 3 day summer daycamp. The condo had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We were able to work from the condo while our daughter was at camp and then had a great time in the pool every evening. We would love to stay here again.

This is a gorgeous condo. It looks just like in the pictures. We really appreciated all the little touches (blankets for the living room, beach towels). We vacationed in July and didn't use the deck very much, but we would love to go back in the fall or spring because the deck was just amazing. It would be so lovely to have coffee or dinner out there. My only criticism was that the water pressure in the master shower was not very good. Everything else was perfect. I highly recommend this condo.

Pleasantly surprised and happy with location and accommodation!

This particular unit is lovely and has everything you need! The overall complex is a little rundown but the large pool was great! Beach is literally across the (large) street!

Salty Mermaid June 2023

We had a great time in Galveston and staying at the Salty Mermaid! The condo was exceptionally clean and stocked with everything we needed (except a blender)! The pool options were nice to have. The grounds were well kept and clean. Easy access to the beach was a bonus!

Stay here!

This condo was everything and more. We have stayed at other Maravilla condos but this one was by far our favorite. Spacious, kitchen well equipped, laundry essentials. Our kids loved the bunk beds and the KING size bed in the spare room. Beds are comfy and AC works really well, it was a must for being summer time and a pregnant wife. We will be back like we are every summer but will definitely try to book this same condo.

Beautiful Place!

We loved the Salty Mermaid! So much room, very open and tons of light — just a very nice place. It was so close to everything. The balcony was SWEET! We were so pleasantly surprised and felt like the photos just don’t do it justice. We loved the property and felt very safe. Really convenient to have the dedicated pet areas and it even had a dog wash on site! We will definitely be back soon!

Great veranda

It was great as usual got in the hot tub and enjoyed our beautiful new years ever !!! Always wonderful to stay here. We even have a name for it ! We just call it new house!!? lol

Beautiful & spacious

Beautiful and spacious condo with all the luxuries of home! Plenty of space for our 4 adults & 3 teens. Condo has been beautifully renovated and has every convenience we needed. We especially like the high ceilings and separate bedrooms and full baths which meant we were never “on top of” each other. We tend to cook in and the kitchen was well-appointed. Management was extremely responsive. Would definitely stay again!

Highly recommend!

Amazing property with great owners that care about their guests. Easy to check in, lots of parking options and the place was SUPER clean. It has all the basics plus items for the beach. Having the washer and dryer onsite helps us pack lighter. The property is well maintained, clean, safe and they have a security walking around on site. The heated pool is great for kids! Its located right across the beach.The property is going through renovations but that did not affect our stay at all. We would definitely come back!

Fun family getaway

We had a great experience at the Salty Mermaid. Spacious, clean, well decorated, and the deck is AMAZING. Beds were comfy. The location is great, easy access to everything Galveston has to offer. The pool was fun and refreshing. The only thing I can suggest is that the kitchen could be better appointed. There were only 2 coffee mugs in the cabinet, but there were 5 of us. And, it would be nice to have some glass dishes, measuring cups, and simple salt and pepper.

Great Stay!

Great stay! Accurate description of property, no concerns. Plenty of towels and bathroom toiletries, beach towels too! Lots of kitchen supplies and utensils but absolutely no kitchen pantry items(oil, salt & pepper/spices) so pack accordingly. Property is older but very well maintained and patrolled nightly by management. Construction at front of property did not affect our stay at all. Would definitely book again and go back!

Comfortable and clean

This was our second stay at this property. Our daughter attends a summer day camp in Galveston every summer and this is a comfortable and clean place with a great location for us. We are able to work from the condo while she's at camp and then we all get in the pool at the end of the day. They are still doing construction on the complex and only one elevator was working when we were there but that was only a pain on the first and last day of our stay when we were unpacking or packing. The beds are comfortable and the unit had everything we needed. We look forward to returning next summer.

Great space for a family

While the complex was a little run down, the condo layout, decor and cleanliness were great. The kids loved the bedroom with the kind beds and bunk beds. Our only real issue was the air conditioning. It wouldn't cool down below 74 degrees, even at night.

Very nice condo. Had issues with primary bedroom being too warm since the upper windows do not have blinds or curtains. Sunny all week and the sun made the room warmer than the rest of the condo. To get the primary room cooled down we had to lower the thermostat which caused the rest of the condo to be very cold. Minor issues like towel hooks falling off the doors and sink faucet handles falling off but all in all the stay was very nice. The condo is decorated well and there is plenty of room for a family. Towels, blankets, and beach items are all supplied. Washer dryer in the unit was very convenient having a toddler and after many trips to the pool. We visited the pool daily. Will stay at this condo again in the future. Mgt. should consider blinds for upper windows and black out curtains for lower windows.

Salty Mermaid Review

Upon walking in the door, we were all impressed! It was, however, very warm. We chalked this up to us being in and out of door while unloading. The next two days, the AC was fabulous, but in the last night, the inside temp reached 76 and we could not get it to go down. Also, the unit needs blackout curtains in bedrooms to block out pool lights that are on all night! We would definitely stay at the Salty Mermaid again!

Rainy Week

The condo was very nice. The issues were with the elevators not working most of the time and the leaking ceiling (result of hurricane). We were not aware of the damage and found it when we arrived. We assumed it was due to lack of maintenance. With the rain all week, the ceiling started leaking on the couch where we were sitting. Other then that the stay was nice.

Great Unit!

We stayed in this unit for 10 days with another couple and enjoyed our time here. The "welcome" cooler bag and goodies from the management company was an unexpected and much appreciated surprise! Check in and out was a breeze as well. The location can't be beat! We really enjoyed having the beach directly across the street and the beach chairs, umbrella and beach wagon provided in the unit were AWESOME!! We just loaded up the wagon and popped across the street. *BOOM* Beach day with very little effort! The good - excellent air conditioning (a godsend coming in from 100+ outdoor temps!), HUGE indoor and outdoor space, updated decor and comfy beds. The complex itself is a little rundown, but is undergoing some much needed major renovations. Totally expected for a building subjected to the ocean and salty air. A couple of "creature comfort" suggestions - provide more paper products (toilet paper, paper towels) and floor mats or throw rugs for sandy feet. If we ever make it back to Galveston, we'd definitely stay here again. Thanks for everything!
