We very much enjoyed our stay. The house was very comfortable, clean and cozy. The air conditioning was a plus and worked great since it was in the upper 90's. A nice large back yard with a barbecue. Pretty much everything was provided, just like walking into your own home. Excellent communication. We would definitely recommend this home and would go back again. We thank our host again for the excellent hospitality! A

Our stay in this home was perfect. Host was easy to communicate with. It was clean and provided everything we needed for our stay. Location was great too, 5 minutes to grocery and our daughter, who we went to visit, the main reason we were there! Would definitely recommend!

We stayed for 3 days and it was a wonderful experience.. First thing was the home was beautiful and very welcoming and comfortable. The master bath has a garden tub, which I definitely used, loved it.. Doran was quick with responses. Not to far from stores at all. We definitely want to stay again and soon

Dated property but very clean and comfortable. Big fenced in yard if needed .Beds were very comfortable . Location was rural but was fine for our trips into Columbia.

It's in need of some upgrades but it's clean, everything works, great hot water and very comfortable. Check in is a breeze and the kitchen is only missing a kettle (wife is British). Good place for the money and I would stay here again.

Great place to rest between baseball games. Found some good food not too far away. Had everything we needed!

Home away from home

3 bedroom 2 bath small house that was perfect for our needs. We were only 12 miles from family we were there to visit. 100% better than getting a motel room.

Cozy and very clean! It was a perfect place to stay for my son’s basic training graduation at Fort Jackson. It was around 20-25 minutes drive to base and easy to maneuver. The house itself is older, but well kept and very clean. It was comfortable for my older parents and my two year old granddaughter. The fenced back yard is a wonderful feature. The only thing I’d note is that the light that comes into the front bedroom at night is bright! A blind in the window would be a wonderful addition. Thank you Doran for being so responsive and making check in so easy! Your house is a gem. J. Marck

Short stay

The House matched the photos. Quiet neighborhood, easy to find. We were only there to shower and sleep so the price was great for what we needed.

Perfect for what we needed

House was perfect for the purpose of our visit - college tours. It was a little farther out than we anticipated, but that’s my own fault for not researching more. The house itself was great!

Great stay, ad described

The property was clean and as described. Plenty of space, linens, kitchen supplies. Check in process was easy and host was quick to respond after reservation was up until check in. No issues at all.

I will start with the positives. Very nice home on a quiet street. The house was well taken care of and had a lot of room to move around.Now for the negatives… this is just a warning, before check in, you need to provide an unaltered photo of your drivers license, which I was extremely uncomfortable doing. I tried asking questions about where the photo ended up, what happened to the photo after our stay, and didn’t get answers to those questions. Had to chat with vrbo and they had to contact the host. Communication was not great. Got my check in instructions 2 hours before check in, have not experienced that before. Small negatives were that there were no blinds on windows in bedrooms or bathrooms and no entry lights or lights inside were on, making check-in in late at night difficult with luggage.

Some changes needed to make

Overall the home was in a perfectly clean state. The only issue we ran into was every bed besides the master was hard as a rock with barely any cushion around a box of springs.

Host did not communicate with me for 3 days prior to my check in day. Was not able to check in. Host finally messaged me 2.5 hrs after the check in time. I had to find my own lodging for the night. Although I was refunded the full cost, it took much effort on my part to get this done thru Vrbo. Only after asking several times for Vrbo t refund my new hotel expense did they agree, but they were not initially going to pay for my hotel for 1 night because "I was already getting refunded from the host and then not spending over the original cost to me". Not really happy with this host or Vrbo.

About a year ago, I rented another place in preparation for my nephew's wedding. As time got closer, a little over a month before the occasion, the proprietors of the other location notified me that due to circumstances beyond their control, they could no longer accommodate me, so my search for accommodations was back on, and I found this place. It was a blessing. This is a single residence, and it is in the country, but still close to some restaurants, and grocery shopping. I liked the location because it was quiet, and the fact that it was close enough to the event, but not so close that people would try to come see me. Let's face it, I love my family, but I also like my space. The place was clean, had cook wear in the kitchen, and plenty of towels, if you need them. The proprietor responded to messages very quickly and check in and out was very easy. There were a few spiders, but keep in mind, it is a little in the country. If you want perfect, someone to hold your hand through everything, someone waiting on you hand and foot, this place may not be for you. If you want simple life living comforts, with a home like feel, this could be your best option. I really enjoyed my stay and if for some reason I need to be back in that area, I would definitely stay there again.

Found this great stay close to Fort Jackson where our nephew was graduating basic this is a perfect 23 miles away so if your soldier needs a place to decompress its perfect. This house was so nice - enough beds and rooms for five people, nice size kitchen to cook in and a huge backyard. There is a grill in the back yard if you are someone who likes to cook on charcoal. Host is very communicative when we needed to ask questions.Bedrooms: The primary bedroom has a king size bed and a nice huge bathroom with walk in closet. There is two queen/full size beds in one room access to the closet is tight. Then there is either a full/queen size bed in the other bed room. There is a shared bathroom for those rooms close by. Living room: nice size, tv is small and the WIFI is not that great but you are able to use the apps on the tv to watch your favorite streaming options. Couch is really not sleepable but I'm sure someone small could sleep on it. There are board games available to play with families as well.Kitchen: Great size table for four, there are extra chairs about for people to set on to eat. There is a normal coffee pot, we brought our Keurig so that is something I thought people should know about the coffee situation. There are basic cooking utensils and pots & pans. make sure you bring extra storage bags or trash bags for your trash.Laundry Room: We did use the laundry room, bring your own washing detergent and dryer sheets if you plan to wash your clothes.

Will not stay here again

The property was not bad, however the cleanliness was sub par. The entrance floor looked like it had never been mopped, the bathroom in the hallway looked to be quickly wiped down, but lots of soap scum was left in the shower. All the carpets had stains which left me feeling uneasy, the vacuum in the laundry room was left with a full canister if dirt and hair, again leaving me uneasy. My niece had a roach crawling on her blanket when she went to go to bed, another one was in the hallways, and my nephew found one crawling in the master bedroom bathroom. Definitely a rough stay. Not to mention I had 2 more people join me due to an emergency and trying to get ahold of the property manager was a whole other ordeal. I had to try to book the same property for different dates just to be able to get thru to him while I was just trying to be respectful and let him know I had extra people.

Read the listing carefully !!!!!!

We ultimately didn’t even check into the property, and ended up going to a nearby hotel instead. I didn’t cancel the reservation at the property as I’d not receive any refund anyways - and at least I could write a review. Ultimately, this was the first listing that has ever required the information this host wants. Full names of all guest, to include my minor children? An unaltered Copy of my license. I did not feel comfortable giving him all of this information, informed both him and VRBO that it was against VBRO policy to communicate outside of the secure platform. Ended up sending some variation of the information (accurate or not I won’t say). On top of that, host wants to meet you in person at check-in (also never encountered that). Says all hotels required a license and that is why the IRS requires. But I’ve never given a hotel my license either, so it added to the shadiness. Host tries to make you feel comfortable sending all of this by boasting about his “Q Level Clearance with the Department of Energy” and some story about how he got a fee from the IRS for not collecting licenses. But we felt just through email communication and the one phone call that VBRO put us on together like this situation was bad all around. I had asked to cancel the reservation and get refunded due to not wanting to provide my ID - but naturally that wasn’t allowed bc it was in the posting. So my advice - read the posting carefully. All the way to end.
