“Hot bath tap didn't work so moved to another room. The curtains in there were so thin that the outside lights were so bright in my room and made it really hard to sleep. “The room did the job - but numerous issues. Missing some basic necessities like a bedside light. Had to use the public wifi from the bar downstairs which was choppy at best. The problems started right from the beginning. Check in according to the website was 10:00pm. But at 8:30pm I had a message saying I wouldn't be able to check in after 9 as the bar shuts at that point. I was on a train so unable to get there for that time, and somebody very kindly stayed to let me in, but they still...

“The property was easy to find with some decent parking. Once there I called the owner, Gaina and she provided the code for the key box. Once upstairs in the loft studio, I was amazed with the space and amenities on hand. On Gaina's advice, I went on an hour long walk near a local river and woodlands. There were plenty of dining options within a decent radius of distance. I had a great night's sleep and was welcomed with a fantastic variety for a continental breakfast to get the day started...

“Our accommodation was in a block beside the castle. The window was painted shut, beds were poor, a long walk to toilets and showers and no facilities in the room. The restaurant was closed. I'm ex military and have seen better army barracks.”
