We had a great stay! The view of the river was beautiful and we enjoyed having our coffee on the patio in the mornings. It was just my husband and me this time, but the property was spacious and comfortable, and would be perfect for family gatherings as well.

Beautiful space and location!

We had a group in town for graduation. It was a tad cold to utilize the outside spaces, but they were gorgeous! We enjoyed the hottub immensely, and highly suggest utilizing it during your stay! Beds are comfy as well. Having young children proved to be a challenge at bed time as the sound carries really well throughout the house.

River Tranquilty

What a peaceful, tranquil setting on the Shell Rock River. We had a family gathering - 3 brothers and their wives - near where we fished with our Dad and Grandfather 60 to 65 years ago and spent the week sharing positive memories! Thank you for sharing the River House with us.

Wow!! We all LOVED staying at this beautiful log home!!! We wanted to unplug from reality… this was the perfect place to rest, relax, restore! So peaceful!! Amazing sunsets! Our son did some golfing and a little fishing. We really enjoyed the hot tub morning and evening!! The host was wonderful! Very prompt with replies etc. We hope to stay again!! Visit back home to Iowa to see family and friends

Beautiful property on the river. Very relaxing and fun grilling and hosting lunch and dinner for old friends and family. The boys put fishing lines in the water and had a great time. Highly recommend this property and plan to return.

Great Location

Great location and a perfect fit for our family. We enjoyed kayaking on the Shell Rock River and golfing at a nearby golf course. An issue popped up on the first day but the owner responded very promptly and resolved the issue quickly!

It was great midway point to meet up with Family. Weather did not cooperate us, but we had a beautiful time anyways. Between the hot tub and playing family games into the late night we had great time. Very spacious comfortable furniture ! (trust me I have rented some Vrbo with cheap furniture) But not here. Owner very easy to work with.

Great get away

Our extended family wanted to try something new this summer after always driving north from Minneapolis to vacation. This cabin was a great alternative and more than met our expectations. The house was large enough to comfortably fit our whole family and the outside area overlooking the river was ideal. Kitchen was well supplied to cook. Plenty of places to be in or out of the sun, play some games and enjoy each other’s company. There is a small town nearby where we picked up some groceries, visited a pottery shop, played pickle ball, and golfed on a small but nicely kept 9 hole course. The river is shallow but there was a variety of fish caught and we swam at the sand bar just a little bit away from the house. The river is shallow, so swimming right in front of the cabin was not a choice but the sand bar picture in the listing was fun. Great communication with owner and obviously a lot of care put into this beautiful cabin. Great vacation. Still can’t get the picture of the sunset over the river out of my mind.

Great retreat

We had three couples and two children under 6. We enjoyed fishing (caught 5 different kinds of fish, and some big ones!!), cooking, chilling in the house, and relaxing in the hot tub. You can log into subscription services on the TVs, and the kitchen had all we needed. The river is beautiful!! Fair warning: the beach is rocks and mud and the water smells a little fishy. It worked for us, and the boys had so much fun, but if you're expecting white sand, you might be disappointed. There's a nearby park where you can dig for fossils, and I recommend the funnel cake fries at TJs Bar. Very beautiful home, great views of nature. Overall it's a great place to get away and relax!!

Imperfect Retreat

The setting is beautiful, is in a quiet setting, has a gorgeous view and the house is nice and very spacious. However, be aware that the property was not cleaned prior to our arrival. There was no air conditioning, but we were not informed. There’s someone living in an apartment above the garage with no lock off.

Great for relaxation along with peace and quiet

This is a wonderful property and location! We enjoyed the peace and quiet as we drank our coffee every morning while looking at the river. Plenty of room for the 6 adults that we had for our trip. Home is beautiful! Spent the week and enjoyed using the grill and relaxing. Appreciate that bed linens and towels are provided. The West Forty Market in Greene is perfect to grab the groceries and supplies you need and the Coffee Baa is an excellent choice for drinks, pastries, and lunch. It would be helpful if there was a checklist of things that should be done before leaving. We weren't sure where to put trash or if we needed to remove bedding. Family room is large and a bigger tv would be helpful in there. We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back!!

Nothing short of PERFECT!!

We had 4 adults and 8 kids on our stay. So much fun, and many memories were made. A very beautiful cabin with LOTS of space, and everything you’d need. The view was amazing from every direction!… super easy to find and get to! So much to do for all ages and all right outside the patio door!! It was a perfect family mini vacay!!
