Communication and welcome from Madeleine was excellent, despite her and her family being away for the duration of our stay. A beautiful spot, well maintained, with lots of thoughtful touches. We loved having breakfast with the geckos, the duck, the dogs and Winston the cat! Only one small suggestion for improvement - a larger/more effective mosquito net for the outdoor bed would be appreciated!...

“The house is great. There was an issue which the owners took care of promptly. This place does not have a/c and that is likely my fault. I'm sure I just missed it in the listing. The house wasn't too warm during the day but cooled down and sleeping at night was perfect. It is close to Hilo town. It is close to a general store if you need something and walking distance from a beach that apparently has seals at it frequently. We did not see any this trip. We had the house to ourselves....

“We have stayed here before and once again it was perfect. This is true old time Hawaii at its best. We ate all the fresh fruit that was waiting for us. For me, sitting on front porch, feeling the trade wind and hearing the sound of the sugar cane leaves dancing in the wind is as close to heaven on earth as you can get. Especially if you are eating a Malasada from Tex and drinking a cup of coffee. Fairy and Nico are the sweetest cats ever. We love them so much! Nico even joined us for a walk down...

“I was super excited to stay at this property. The pluses...the Koy pond. The fish are amazing and love to eat. Also, the sounds at night from nature. Would have been nice to have a lounger in the sun room rather than just chairs. Not many other pluses. We tried to get connected to Internet. The welcome book didn't seem to match the house. The descriptions were off. There were at least 5 remotes but none of them did anything. Only one turned off and on the TV. TV was activated through Roku....
