The property was beautiful. House is well stocked, clear instructions for all amenities. Our main issue was that the power was out upon our arrival. This was an area wide issue and not specific to the property. The property manager offered one night refund or an additional weekend stay as compensation. We chose the one night stay as we live in another state. Throughout the stay communication was timely and thorough.

This is truly one of my favorite spots I’ve ever seen it! There are so many gathering places around the house and you truly can’t beat the view of the lake. The property had everything we could want & was clean! The hosts were super communicative. Can’t wait to go back!

Our group of eight had a phenomenal stay at the Poke A Nose Inn. The house itself was beautiful, with spacious and comfortable rooms, and the grounds were just as gorgeous. One of the best parts was the private lake access; the dock and the variety of watercraft available were huge highlights. We took out kayaks, paddleboards, and the motorboat, and all were in excellent shape. Even as a newly certified boat driver, I found the Whaler easy to handle, and the quiet lake made for a perfect outing.Inside, the house was spotless on arrival, with everything we needed in the kitchen from cookware to spices and coffee. The game room with the pool table was a favorite spot, and with multiple levels and bedrooms, people could sleep while others stayed up late. Three bathrooms made things very manageable for a group our size. We also appreciated the grill (a bit small, but it did the job) and the fire pit, which worked perfectly with plenty of firewood on site.Communication with the property manager, Gavin, was top-notch. He was responsive, friendly, and provided helpful guidance about the house and the lake.This home is ideal for groups—we each had our own bed, and the setup worked great for eight adults. The neighborhood itself was quiet and friendly, which we respected and enjoyed.Overall, this rental exceeded expectations in every way. We’d come back in a heartbeat and would absolutely recommend it to others.

This place was amazing! Super clean. In the house: games , big screen TV, pool table, dart board, stocked kitchen, comfy seating. Outside: gorgeous lake, plenty of well maintained boats. We fished, swam, went out on the boats and even played tennis. Gavin was always available by text or phone for anything we needed. His whaler was super fun! Would definitely stay again!

Grandkids and more

We had a wonderful time. Plenty of room for the oldies, the parents, and the kiddos. Wonderful Easter Egg Hunt and lots of space to stretch your legs. You know it is good when everyone said I wish we booked for a longer stay. Thank you bunches!Only down side was the cooling system could use a little more explaining. Toggling from heat to cool must have a lag time.

Perfect Lake Getaway

My husband and I stayed at the Poke A Nose Inn and we had a great time. The property is gorgeous! The lake view from the deck, living room and loft is amazing. The house itself is very spacious and so cozy! It is filled with everything we needed for a peaceful stay. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need including extras such as a blender, serving trays, espresso machine, drip and K-cup machine as well as spices and refrigerated condiments. We used the grill for several meals, ate outside on the deck and took advantage of the pool table and darts on the lower level. The loft is super cozy and is filled with games and a massive smart tv. We slept in the main room on the loft level which was also very comfy. We borrowed pillows from a different room because the ones in the main room were not to our liking but we understand everyone has their own personal preference when it comes to pillows. The only disappointment was we had planned to take the boat out to fish on the lake but the anchor was missing. We reached out to the owner but he wasn't able to help; it would have been nice if someone were available to stop by to open the locked shed to retrieve it for us but that was not offered. Being our first boating experience, we were too nervous to fish without it so we ended up just fishing off the dock. This did not ruin our getaway, though. It was everything we were hoping for plus more. We hope to return in the future!

Wonderful Family gathering in the Poconos!

We had a great stay at Gavin's house. Everything was as advertised. It was a little chilly that week so we took advantage of the pickleball courts and beach. A few brave souls swim in the lake. Great location. Lake views are even better in person.

The house is located on a quiet cul-de-sac and nice cove of the lake. The house sits up high and has nice views of the lake. The host provided everything you could want for your stay... kayaks, canoe, paddle boards, towels, kitchen supplies, etc...

Wonderful Lake House

We had an amazing time. The owners thought of everything we could need. The kayaks were a huge hit and we took advantage of the amenities of the community (dinner at the clubhouse, the beach, golf, drinks at the Tiki Bar). The view from the deck and the sunset at the dock are amazing. Loved being able to arrive and find the sheets on the beds allowing us to immediately enjoy our vacation.

Cozy, Comfy & Very Clean

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Poke a Nose Inn. The house was impeccably clean and cozy. The owners/agents thought of everything in order to provide comfort and accommodate ease of stay. We had to make the beds at our previous VRBO but it was such a treat to arrive at Poke A Nose & find already freshly made & very comfortable beds. Everything that we could possibly need was supplied in ample quantities (in comparison to our previous VRBO where we had to run out to purchase additional household supplies as we quickly went through their minimal quantity of starter supplies). My husband and older son enjoyed golfing at the Hide Out’s Golf Course. We all loved playing pool at the house & taking the canoe & peddle boat out. Best of all was fishing from the dock; we caught & released all kinds of fish (large & small mouth bass, a walleye, blue gills, pumpkin seed & a catfish). We were amazed & have a great family memory of our 11 year old accidentally dropping his hook in the water as he was untangling his line & instantly pulling it up (no more than 2 seconds later) with a fish on the hook. He is still talking about his superior fishing skills.

Best location and lake access

We needed a nice lake getaway and this rental was the best! Rooms were great, basement had pool table and bar area. Had easy access to the lake, great amenities in the community and space was nicely kept. The views of the lake from the porch were Amazing! We will be retuning!

Kid-friendly Neighborhood

This was our first time to the Pocanos and we had a wonderful time. The cabin is located right on the water in a quiet gated community. We came here for the skiing and weren't disappointed. We had the best day at Elk mountain, which was an easy drive. (Tip: buy tickets online and then park in the upper lot right next to the slopes. There is a ticket kiosk right at the lift. Ski in and ski out from your car) The cabin is perfect for families. We had four adults and four kids (5-17yo.) There was something for everyone. The basement, with it's pool table, dart board and foosball occupied all the kids for the better part of a week while the adults enjoyed the view and the fireplace from the main floor. One thing that we especially liked was the bed configuration, which so many cabin owners get wrong. Having a bedroom with bunk beds is brilliant and allowed us to accommodate two families with kids without a problem. For this reason alone, we'll be coming back. The kitchen was well appointed with everything to cook family-style meals and the espresso maker was a nice treat. There was a shortage of silverware for our large group, but the owners said they are adding a new set immediately. If the weather had been warmer, we would have taken advantage of the HUGE hammock by the water and the cool Solo Bonfire pit. Wireless was high-speed and supported video conference calls for work. Cellphone coverage (AT&T) was fine. The grocery store (Weis?) was only 10min away and was much better than expected. In fact, next time, we'll probably do groceries when we get there. Check in was easy, although we did have to wait a five minutes at the community gatehouse for our passes. We can't wait to come back during the summer. The waterfront looks ideal for kids and boating. We wish there was a large yard for outdoor games, but the community is very friendly and there are many outdoor amenities like a community beach and basket ball courts that we didn't use because of the winter weather. We'll definitely bring the kid's bikes next time. The neighborhood reminded us of when we were kids and the streets were safe for packs of kids to roam around on their bikes. Perfect escape from daily life.

Cozy relaxation!

Recharging winter stay! Poke A Nose Inn was the getaway friends and I so needed from the city. Wifi was excellent for getting work done. We spent cozy nights in front of the fireplace - major hygge vibes with oversized comfy couches and chairs and extra throw blankets. Kitchen had all the basics we need to make cooking all meals in easy. The club house does have a restaurant that is open, but we didn’t get time to try. Grocery store very short drive in town is pretty good. Nights are super quiet! Easy to sleep here. Clean, brightly lit with big windows, plenty of space for our group to spread out. We’ll be back!

Great getaway anytime of year!

I’ve stayed at Poke A Nose Inn twice now, once in early autumn and once in the winter. It’s a picturesque and tranquil spot that has been a lovely respite from city life with both extended family and friends. So far, we’ve loved being lakeside, as well as cooking in and enjoying the fireplace. When we visited in the fall, we ate every meal outside, either on the screened-in porch or on the deck. It’s also well-situated for remote working. We look forward to returning again this year!
