  • Waikaloa - Unit 1 is a 1 BR/1BA oceanfront unit. Just 100′ off the water, this lovely unit has warm tropical decor with bamboo walls and rattan furniture, a King-size bed, granite counter tops and hardwood floors. The stunning view is showcased by expanded windows. Facing due east, the sun rises right over the water!

    **Please note** Our units are not equipped with AIR CONDITIONING.

    This unit has a 2-night minimum stay requirement with these two exceptions:
    1. There is only 1 night available between 2 other reservations

Just eight miles away, the pools at Oheo Gulch (“seven pools”) offer great scenery and refreshing swimming in Haleakala National Park-Kipahulu. Hikers will enjoy a panoramic hike up through the bamboo forest to Waimoku Falls. The trails at Wainapanapa will bring you to fresh-water caves or take you along the coast to spectacular views where you can sometimes see humpback whales as you hike along the cliffs. Love Hana

We have been to Hana to stay multiple times including the Hana Maui Resort and this was the best located, nicest place we have been to. The unit and grounds were in excellent condition and Hana is always a nice quiet break from the rest of Maui.

Perfect serenity

Gorgeous place, well outfitted, very comfortable. Hana is best enjoyed staying there and having the road and exquisite scenery to yourself in the morning before the day trippers arrive. LOVED the location and view at this gorgeous place!

Breathtaking view!

We stayed just for a night, would have loved to stay longer. We woke up to watch the sunrise and slept oh so well to the sound of the ocean waves. Its a beautiful beautiful cabin with a perfect kitchen.

Quiet Paradise

We loved our little Hawaiian home in Hana. It was so quiet and peaceful- except the sound of the waves. Which was perfect. All we wanted to hear. Great location. Made exploring Hana so much easier. Kitchen was very well stocked.

Great place to stay in Hana

This was our third Road to Hana excursion. We decided to overnight in order to have a more relaxed day. Weather was not ideal due to high winds and high surf but we had a great time visiting the state park and exploring the food truck options. The accommodations were great, nice view of the ocean, clean and ideal for our needs.

Unbelievable. Amazing 5⭐️. Place was spot on. The view. The location. The staff. Listening to waves at night cool breeze even needed a blanket. Views of the sunrise 🌅 walking the black sand beach. Cooking dinner and 🍷 in a fully equipped kitchen. Highly recommend this gem when staying in Hana

Cozy, Comfortable, Clean

Very nice and welcoming unit. Well stocked. Walking distance to “town”. Friendly management. Stayed 5 nights (probably 2 nights too many for Hana). Hana is a great quiet place if you are looking to escape the tourist hustle. A few notes: The pictured Beach is not good for swimming & difficult to walk as covered with stones Unit is ideal for 2; 4 adults would be tight IMHO. There was (1/11/23) a homeless encampment right outside the entrance to the beach from the resort.

This oceanfront property is absolutely charming. Relaxing on the Spacious Lanai and taking in the views and sounds was one of our favorite Maui experiences. A/C wasn’t needed as the cool ocean breezes were pleasant and opening the windows at night let us enjoy the sounds of the waves. The unit is comfy, clean and felt like home for a couple of days. Highly recommend this one.

Off the grid!

The property was as described, and we enjoyed being "off the grid" for a couple of days. No traffic lights, 2 small grocery stores (better get to them before 5pm) and 1 restaurant - no TV - no A/C. It was perfect - the locals were nice and recommended a couple of beaches we should visit. The Road to Hana was a blast and beautiful - as described. You cannot be a timid driver!! Amanda was the best - so sweet, nice and helpful - she's a local gem. We wanted to experience a quiet part of Maui before heading to Kapalua. Our stay at Hana Kai met our expectations and more. Our 2-week Hawaii trip was to celebrate our 20th Anniversary, and our ages are 57 and 58.

Heaven

After making it on the road to Hana we were pleasantly surprised to find our complex overlooking a beautiful black sand beach. There was a covered porch that was very private. We enjoyed sitting out there most of the time. We could hear the waves as we fell asleep each night. It is isolated but very relaxing. We would love to return some day.

Relaxing and exploring in Hana

The accommodations were excellent especially the constant pounding of the ocean just behind the lodge. COVID cut down the eating opps to one inside dining location and food trucks. No grocery places really, but we knew that in advance. Menus were very cut down too but we love Thai so we were fine. Not many times you catch 4 sunny days in Hana so we were blessed. Always a pleasure at the Hana Kai location

Wonderful stay at the Hana Kai Maui

This was our second stay at the Hana Kai Maui and we were extremely satisfied. Location is excellent (right on the black sand beach) with beautiful view of the garden and the ocean. Kids had a blast with the boogie boards (available from the property). It is a very short drive to the town/groceries and the red sand beach. Kitchen was fully equipped and in great condition.

Great condo

The studio condo we had was comfortable with enough space, which studios often do not have. I loved falling asleep listening to the waves nearby.

Hana Paradise!

Great location and perfect for us three. Comfortable beds, even the sofa bed. Clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. Complimentary coffee was great! Front desk was welcoming and supplied beach towels when we asked. We enjoyed morning coffee on the lanai, with amazing views! Loved the private gate to the grass area and beach. Definitely would rent this unit again!
