We had everything to make our stay comfortable including the complimentary North Uist distillery gin miniatures and Hebridean oatcakes, much appreciated. “This hotel is actually a group of newly renovated residential rooms located within an old historic castle, on very beautiful forested/gardened grounds that overlook the Stornoway harbor and town center. It’s just a short (approximately 15 minutes) walk from the castle to the center of Stornoway, with its restaurants, bars and shops. “We spent a wonderful week in an apartment in Lews Castle Stornoway. The apartment was very spacious, light and with high ceilings as befits a castle. Its location was excellent, in extensive grounds and in walking distance of Stornoway. It also had views of the harbour. We could watch ferries and cruise ships come in and out.”
