“Have known this hotel for a number of years and it was one of the best in the area but now needing a facelift without spoiling its design. Lift inside needs upgrading, fixtures and fittings need upgrading. STAFF were lovely especially Carol in the lounge area, very kind and helpful. Pool and garden area lovely. Parking good but limited spaces. Receptionists friendly and helpful. Hotel is well situated for Bideford T
own and links to Westward Ho!, Barnstable, Instow and surrounding areas. Would...
“The room, was filthy dirty, bed sheets smelt of mould wet dog. Cups dirty with coffee stains. Toilet filthy. Shower filthy, floor so dirty made your feet black. Walls all damaged. Smelt really bad in the room. Balcony outside extremely dangerous and broken.
Floor uneven. No lights in the dark. Extremely noisy. Beds uncomfortable. Stains on sheets.
Dust and dirt every where. The towels didn’t smell clean. Extremely unhappy. I didn’t take hardly any photos to proved as I’m sure the staff know.”
“I originally stayed at this B&B about 20 years ago while walking the coastal path, & decided to return as the village was in an ideal place for our touring holiday. The steep driveway & smallish space made for tricky parking with a large car, but doable. Our room was clean & comfortable, if a little dated in style. The owners were welcoming & helpful.
Breakfast the next morning set us up for the day.
We had a meal in the pub near the beach, & took a stroll around the village.”

Hot tub was lovely and we sat in it and watched the sunset over the sea.
Complex is quite run down but work is ongoing to improve the facilities.
A manual for the hot tub would have been useful having never used one before.”
