It doesn’t get more charming than Rural Felicity, a fully updated and airy cottage that’s tucked into the woods of Webbmont. Wake up and have coffee in complete privacy on the porch. Embrace the sound of birds singing in the rhodedendron thickets surrounding the cottage on all sides. This home boasts fully updated kitchen and baths, large rooms, and enough spaces to spread out. Did we mention the adorable upstairs bunk room? This home is perfect for a couple or a multi-generational family. It features paneled walls, shiplap throughout, and vaulted wooden ceilings. Rural Felicity has one king suite, one queen suite, a bunk room for 3, and 2 additional living areas.

The Location: Rural Felicity is located in the Webbomnt area of Highlands, a flat, rural area with tons of tiny streets to meander down and take in the gorgeous mountain scenery. Walk to Lake Sequoia or On The Verandah for dinner or drinks. It’s just far enough from the beaten path that you will have privacy but close enough that dinner/shopping on Main Street is less than a few minute’s drive.

The Property: Rural Felicity is hidden from the road by a grove of thick rhododendrons, which are natural to Highlands. It is flat and easily accessible by cars. It has a circular driveway and 4WD is not necessary. There is a natural yard with a large porch with multiple seating areas and Adirondack chairs for enjoying a cup of coffee on a brisk morning.

The Cabin: No detail was overlooked when designing spaces that are as functional as they are beautiful. Rural Felicity gives a cabin in the woods vibe. The property features all wood walls, hardwood floors, an enclosed stone terrace with dining room and an additional seating area, and a bunk area for the littles. The living room also features a gas log fireplace.

The Layout: With flat and easily accessible entry, guests enter into the enclosed sunporch and dining area for 6-8. Just beyond, spill out onto an open living room with comfy seating for 5, a fully stocked kitchen with an oversized island and 4 additional counter stools. Past the living room, guests will find a cozy queen bedroom with it’s own sizeable bath (tub/shower combo) and an additional large king bedroom with ensuite bath and a stand up shower. Upstairs is a bunkroom for 4 with low ceilings to create a sense of warmth and adventure. It has it’s own private bathroom with a walk in shower. The beautiful deck with it’s classic Adirondack chairs is where you’ll want to spend mornings with coffee or evenings with your favorite beverage. Quiet solitude surrounds you in this lovely wooded setting. Just a couple of miles from town, you get the best of both worlds in this little gem of a house.

The Area: Highlands is the premier mountain destination in the Southeast. Lined with shopping, dining, museums and galleries, the bustling mountain village centering around Main Street is straight from a Norman Rockwell painting. Previously a summer/fall hotspot, it’s quickly becoming a year-round destination. At 4,118 feet, it’s one of the few temperate rain forests in North America, bringing botanists and nature lovers from all over the world.

Highlands is also a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts. With an abundance of opportunities for biking, hiking, horseback riding, tubing, canoeing, fly fishing, and whitewater rafting, adventure-seekers will not find a more beautiful backdrop.

The Details: Ample parking for up to 4 cars are allowed at this property. The living room and both bedrooms have sizable flat screen smart TV’s. We have fast, Starlink wifi and wifi calling. The kitchen is stocked with general kitchen utensils and then some. This property is pet friendly with prior approval and a nominal pet fee.
