We Had beautiful stay, we have rented this house 3 times it’s great location and has all the amenities and stuff to make your stay relaxing and the kitchen has everything you need and a whole lot more! Not to mention beach access directly across the street about 100’ away.

Family Gathering

This place is great for large family gatherings. The kitchen is well stocked which we love because we tend to eat most of our meals in. It had a very large dining room table which allowed us to all sit around to eat and play games. Also, the bedrooms are spacious. The backyard was shaded which kept the pool cool. We loved this because it was nice to come back after a long day at the hot beach and cool off in the pool. Finally, we were really close to the beach access. This was perfect for trekking down beach chairs, little kids and umbrellas.

Not as expected ...

There are good things to say about this property and there are bad. Good > great location, close to beach, safe neighborhood, well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and nice open floor plan. Bad > the photos must be old. Inside is dated & tired looking. The furniture on porch, deck & poolside need to be replaced or least seriously cleaned. The pool was not heated or well maintained. The laundry room is outside, through a screen porch, not ideal. And there is an obstruction in the water line that causes extremely slow water flow to the wash tub so a wash cycle takes forever. The cleaning crew forgot to transfer towels from the washer to the dryer after the previous renters left, so the wash tub was full of molded towels. We called the property manager about it and they said to put the towels in a trash bag on the front porch and they would pick them up. They never came. WE had to clean the washer. Also, there was a sprinkler leak on the property the 2nd day we were there and the maintenance crew shut the water off while we were away. When we returned, we were without ANY water the rest of that day and through the night. We made several calls to the property manager but no action was taken until the next day. Unacceptable. The owner sent us a bottle of wine with their regrets...but no offer of a partial refund for our extreme inconvenience due to that incident. Lastly, the blower on the furnace is really loud & blows most of the time. Very annoying during sleep hours.

Family get away

We are a family of 7, five children ages 2-11. This was by far, our families favorite beach trip we’ve ever done. The home was spectacular for us. With a pool In the beach that was clean and a fantastic size, the waterway for kayaking and fishing, and literally a 3 minute walk to the beach, we will be staying here as often as we can. The only thing I wouldn’t give a great rating for was the Washing machine. It is a newer one, but every load had to be restarted or turned to a different setting to try and get the water to drain, it was rather frustrating. But otherwise, the home was well equipped with beach chairs, beach towels, linens, a kitchen overly supplied with every possible need and even a “sharing pantry”. I wish there was a way to contact the owners and thank them for such a wonderful place for families to gather and make memories in something that feels like “home”. Thanks again! We’ll be back.

Some disappointment

We have been reaching out all week re pool problems. Major reason we chose property and never got to use it. No compensation for very expensive property without the promised amenities. Also, washer does not work, tub in master br would not hold water, mattress on bed in 2nd king room is JUNK. Constant response on calls for pool repair received same canned reply. Pool was not fixed until last day of stay and then the water was too cold to enjoy it. HHI is a beautiful vacation destination. Overall, the house was great. Really enjoyed the screened in porch. House does need some tlc. Would come again but probably not thru Vacasa. Poor communication.

Great location!

Loved the location of this house. Close to the beach access, great pool area. House was spacious and very accommodating to our group. Kitchen is very well stocked with all you need for your stay! Might be time to update some of the family room furniture though- not super comfortable. Would definitely come back to this house again when in Hilton Head!

Amazing, close beach house

This house was such a wonderful home away from home! I loved the ease, comfort, and style. It was a bit of an older style home, but not missing any comforts. Our children were comfortable upstairs and felt like they had their own space. We were so close to the beach—it was fabulous!! We absolutely loved it and appreciated the ease of clean up and check out!

Great location in Hilton Head

We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed what the house had to offer and especially the location. The beach access is just across the street with an easy walk to the beach. The heated pool was great for the kids to splash around in. We rented bikes and enjoyed going down to the General Store for ice cream. The house was very well stocked and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again!

A wonderful stay

Our family had a fantastic stay at this property! It is such a great location with the lagoon to look at from the house and just a short walk to the beach. I personally loved the homey feel of the house, it was a very comfortable place to be and a great change of pace from the sterile McMansions that are nice but can feel sterile. The pool is plenty big for cooling off on especially hot days and our teens were able to have their own space in the loft. We would happily stay at this location again! The HVAC does create unbalanced cooling between the bedrooms and upstairs but it wasn’t a huge issue for us. We had a wonderful vacation at this property.

Served Its Purpose

The house served its purpose as a place to stay near the beach. It was a super short walk to the beach access. The house was not clean. Upon arrival we had to wipe spills/smears off the kitchen cabinets. The kitchen is certainly not a gourmet’s delight. Many standard kitchen items were missing. At night in the bedrooms on the lower floor were HOT while bedrooms upstairs were freezing. The pool (which is not as tiny as the pictures make it look) was in serious need of cleaning. The outdoor lighting in the trees was nearly all burned out. The faucets are in need of replacement and there was mold in the shower. Even toilet seats weren’t screwed on tight. The outdoor shower is right next to the garbage cans which we all found unpleasant. If you’re looking for a place to crash and don’t care much about cleanliness or functionality this house will do. We had a good time on HHI, but we would not rent here again.

Little paradise!

I love the Palmetto Dunes, the location of the house is great, really close to the beach. The backyard was my favorite place! We saw lots of different wildlife and they were comfortable with people! The house suited us perfectly! I was impressed with the kitchen supplies and all the cleaning supplies provided. Please include a note about that on your site, we brought many things we didn’t use because the owners provide it! Plan on going back!

Great location to beach ok house

To start...this house is very reasonably priced. Pros: very close to beach, two refrigerators, PRICE Cons: not maintained well, spent one hour cleaning upon arrival. Sofa and loveseat upstairs are yardsale junk. Springs poking the kids(mattress is shot),lighting was terrible inside and out, gutters full and overflowing in the rain, light switch in kitchen burned my son bc it was so hot after dimming, living room windows leak during heavy rain. Dripping on my kids on downstairs couch, stairway not good for kids, not enough linens for beds Overall its priced right for what it is. Close to beach. However, Wouldn't stay again. Take it with a grain of salt. Didn't call with issues bc it's my vacation.

Great Location!!!

Pros: location is right next to a beach access, large dining table, screened porch, separate room for laundry so it didn't wake everyone, the pool was warm and larger than picture, the lagoon was great! The kitchen was stocked with spices and other food items in case guests forgot something which was cool! The master bathroom has been updated and the shower is awesome, the beds were comfortable, and the closets downstairs were large and had extra hangers. There is also a gas grill, although we didn't use it. The driveway is large and convenient for multiple cars. Cons: couldn't find sheets or pad for roll away so had to buy those, had lots of extra pillows but no extra pillow cases, did not have non stick pans for eggs, pancakes, etc., bring extra dish cloths since only a few are provided. Also, watch your head on the spiral stairs. My dad hit his head twice.
