Spacious, but dated and dirty Palmetto Dunes Retreat

We had a wonderful stay at Hilton Lagoon. Leading up to our stay and getting settled the first few days the property manager, Avantstay, was very helpful and friendly. The home is in a great neighborhood in Palmetto Dunes. Biking distance to everything. With any gear, the beach is a short 3min drive or 10min bike ride. The home is nice and spacious, and had ample beds for our family of 9. We enjoyed all the amenities, and our kids especially enjoyed the pool, air hockey, and pool table. The master suite, in particular, was very nice. Our only complaints were that it wasn’t very clean…empty beer cans in the garage, pool was dirty, floors and kitchen were dirty (broken soap dispenser, etc.)…and it’s a little dated…kitchen is small and dated (limited and older utensils and cookware), decor, etc. appear circa 80s-90s. Overall, a nice home for the price compared with other places we’ve stayed in Palmetto Dunes. Thanks for the hospitality and giving us another great, memorable HHI family vacay!

Nice home and lovely setting

Great place for large family. Pool table and large dining room table were especially fun/useful. Wonderful sitting room for 4, overlooking the outdoor pool and adjoining lagoon. Garage entertainment options were a nice surprise…. Check-in was difficult, since Avanstay had only allocated 1 parking pass and security guard was inflexible… Kitchen could use more basic stuff like large spoons, roasting pan, new soap dispenser, etc. Master bathroom toilet handle on last legs. Couple outdoor chairs broken… Overall, very nice home with some small hiccups.

Hilton Lagoon

We had a great family vacation. The house had everything we needed. The pool area was so nice. The pool table and ping pong tables gave us something else to do when needing a break from sun. Would definitely stay here again!!

HHI 24 Family Vacay

House and location was great. House was very clean, came with everything we needed, plenty of space to relax with the family. Pool was very nice. My only criticism would be counter space in master bath and the location of the 4th bedroom being also where the laundry is and where you walk through from the garage. Overall, we were very pleased with the house and our stay and would stay here again. Thank you

Great House & Location

Excellent Experience

The home spacious and clean. Sitting area by the windows over the pool is an excellent place to enjoy morning coffee and to enjoy a drink in the evening. The pool is very nice (can be a bit chilly, it’s not heated). We had a great view of wildlife, deer, turtles, raccoons, squirrels, birds and a quick view of an alligator. We needed some assistance from the property manager, Rueben, when we arrived and he responded immediately and was at the home to help us in less than an hour. Great service! This is a great location for families, not far from the beach. It’s about a 15 minute walk, but if you’re taking smaller children and chairs, colder, umbrella, etc. you’ll want to drive to the beach. Parking is convenient and free for Palmetto Dunes guests. Highly recommend this location.

Peaceful Easy Feeling

Nice house great location. Wifi was not great and not a secure network. Avant Stay had everything you could possibly need. short distance to the beach and tennis/pickle ball facility. I would recommend this house inPalmetto

Hilton Head

It was a lovely house and very clean. The company renting it was amazing. There were only two ping pong paddles and they got us more. They also found something I left behind and mailed to to me. They responded within about 10 minutes. This was extraordinary and greatly appreciated. The house and the pool were lovely. The only thing to note is that the bunk beds are sized for kids, so they are tough to use for grown-ups.

Great house to keep teens busy!

We absolutely loved this home. It was less than 5 minutes bike ride to the beach, and we rode our bikes each morning to breakfast at some nearby places. The pool, pool table, ping pong table and more kept all of our teenage and college age boys occupied. The house was lovely!

1st visit to HHI

We’ve visited OBX for the past 15+ years. Needed a change so this was our 1st visit. We had 10 in our group. Property was very nice. Back yard/pool area is beautiful. 1st night there, we were passing football in the pool. Ball went out of the pool in the brush on the lagoon bank. We used the pool net to try to retrieve. To our surprise, an alligator grabbed the net and pushed back. This was our welcome to HHI:) There are alligators! Stay away from the lagoons/ponds. We saw an alligator hanging out below the property several days. Thankfully, my son didn’t just run down the bank in the dark for the ball! Now some feedback on the home: ~ master bedroom very nice with a very comfortable bed, master bath very nice ~ kitchen has bare minimum pots & pans (1 big pot)…if planning to eat in, may want to bring extra ~ washer n dryer a plus ~ renting bikes was a huge plus (no one wore helmets but the kiddos in the area) ~ beach is just a short (& enjoyable) ride…we would load our pickup truck with all our beach gear, drop off & set up, return truck to house then ride bikes back. If you have a lot of beach gear, coolers, etc, this method works best ~ keypad access to the house is awesome and so convenient ~ pool area is simply beautiful and very enjoyable in the evenings (we were never worried about any alligators coming up to the pool, but we were very cognizant of our surroundings…the bank is steep and covered with foliage/brush) All in all, very enjoyable vacation!

Family vacation

Great house and location. Enjoyed the back porch and pool loungers. Beach was close enough to bike easily. Pool table was fun and used by several in our group. The pool had lost nearly 2 feet of water after a pump issue and we lost a couple days of use. It was addressed by the pool service but water so cold we couldn’t swim. Good dining areas for group. Overall great spot!!

Great experience!

We stayed at this property for a wedding with friends. The property is great, and the neighborhood is perfect. The property management responded super quickly to our request for towels. It had everything we needed for our visit and exceeded our expectations!
